DirecTV Offering Refunds due to Anthem Protests
DirecTV Allows Some NFL Refunds After Anthem Controversy

Quote:Sunday Ticket’s regular policy doesn’t allow refunds once the season is under way. But the representatives said they are making exceptions this season—which began in September—in response to the protests, in which players kneel or link arms during the national anthem.

Frankly, I'm shocked (and pleased) DTV (aka AT&T) is doing this.

It makes me wonder what drove their business decision to offer refunds.

bahahahahahaha

Sunday Ticket isn't cheap -- $360. For them to offer refunds on that much money, you know it's bad. I love it.

Steelers QB already walking back their actions and the owner sent out a public letter trying to explain the team's goal was to try to shutup and play ball.

Ultimately people are tired of lukewarm actions. Do you wanna stand and honor the country or not. It's not a hard question. If you don't wanna stand fine, but don't be surprised or offended when your actions rub people the wrong way and hurt your owners business

I think what they did was better than the Cowboys. Jerry played it all up. They tried to stay out of it. Which is the idea-don't do politics.

Possible answer...

Caller: Hey, The NFL just turned their back on the flag. I see no reason to pay them to disrespect my country. I don't want the Sunday Ticket anymore. I want to cancel it.

Directv: Sir, you already agreed to the terms of the purchase.

Caller: Yes, but that was before the league changed the terms. I want to cancel my Sunday Ticket.

Directv: I can't do that now sir.

Caller: Fine, then cancel my entire Directv account.

Directv: Let me cancel that NFL Sunday Ticket for you today, and give you a refund. And, we are going to give you three months of our premium channels just because you are such a valued customer.

AT&T and IBM and GE are long time supporters of the country's infrastructure and in more ways than just running and maintaining lines. While in today's climate they will not make many public pronouncements of their positions I promise you the protests did not rest well with them.

As a die-hard Rush fan for 38 years now, I know what the song is about.

I pulled that particular snippet as a comment on a specific situation.

You could also look at other songs such as the Fear trilogy where they express their belief (or lack thereof), but "it is what it is."

I just find it fascinating that republicans love Ayn Rand when she was clearly an atheist. I'll give Neil Peart credit in that he was consistent.
