Too many injuries for us to overcome. This is FAU's year.

I rather play MTSU at full strength because i think it would have been a fun close game.
Our DB's have shown they have some real talent.
"Would have been?"
So this implies you guys are going to blow us out. What are you thinking. 52-10? 45-7? How bad are we going to get beat Saturday?
My prediction is FAU 45 - MTSU 42
We won't score that much without Brent or Richie playing.
And I really don't think that you guys understand how much better this defense is. FAU is going to do something that they haven't done against a I-A team and do it against a team that hasn't allowed that many points to three P5 programs? Seems like an epic stretch.
This game will be played in the 20's. It will be like night and day between this one and what happened last year. That's my expectation/prediction. 27-20 or something like that.

We are not stopping ANYBODY. While, on the other hand, we just got done scoring against Buffalo more than anyone else did (and that included a P5 opponent, Minnesota, which scored 34 against MTSU but only 17 against the Bulls).

Applying the old transitive property. Which doesn't work. The reason why Minnesota scored more against us than they did Buffalo was a) turnovers and a pick six (which is more about the offense than the defense) and b) because an injury riddled MT offense couldn't get first downs often giving Minnesota short field to work with all day and allowed Minny to wear down our defense. Again, that was perpetuated by problems with the offense not defense.
In fact, the defense held Minnesota to fewer yards than Buffalo or Oregon St.
And the only reason Minnesota only scored 17 against Buffalo is because they tried to the throw the ball too much. Keep in mind that was Flecks first game, so his pass happy offense isn't going to work with the personnel at Minnesota. They figured that quickly after the Buffalo game where they attempted 32 passes. They didn't throw that many combined in the other two games against us and Oregon St.
I guess what I'm trying to convey is that there isn't a lot of comparing you can do between these games. Other than to say I believe it's a stretch to say MT will give up that many points. Even without moving the ball offensively against Minnesota the defense managed not to allow that many and they were on the field all day. If you guys can't stop anyone it stands to reason our offense will have more success than we did against Minnesota allowing us to move the chains and give the defense a rest. They didn't get one against Minn.

Damn it. I had just about blocked that memory out, and you had to go bringing it back up.

Seriously I dont know what to expect. Navy, Wisconsin, BCU were what I had expected. Buffalo has me stymied. Not cause we lost, but because we switched QB. Parr hadnt been THAT bad. Im so tired of rotating QB's. Seems like weve done that every year since Rusty Smith left.
I watched your game vs. Wisconsin. I thought you guys played well.

Our D is not great, but much improved from last year. They played a hell of a game in Wisconsin. They have forced 6 turnovers this year and are 0playing much faster.
The issue hasn't been with the D as it has been with them playing 40 min a game you will break eventually. Buffalo made some play at the end of game in which there was nothing we can do. The final TD pass was a perfect throw that is not on the D.
FAU is improved at every level this year expect where it counts most an that is QB.

Doesn't feel like it.
It's like we're cursed. As far as MTSU is concerned, every year we find yet another way to lose. My favorite was two years ago, when we seemingly tied the score late in the fourth quarter just to have the TD taken off the board for taunting! When MTSU is not good enough to do it to us, we do it to ourselves.
How soon you guys forget about the epic blunder in M'boro, when our d-back went for the INT (instead of just batting the ball down), and let your receiver ramble 62 yards for the score, with no time left on the clock

If you look at last year game despite the 77-56 final the difference in that game was turnovers which we had three and MTSU had none. If we don't turnover the ball we might still be playing in endless game of no D LOL.
This serious has been the death of me from the Hail Mary in 2008 blowing a 13 point lead in under 2:30 in 2014 the OT game in 2013.
It was been a capsul of FAU football the last 10 year just, so close then blowing it in some crazy way leaving our fans with jaw on the ground.

The Hail Mary was payback for the Bynes incident.
That was one of the most awful games I've ever had to sit through. Both teams played like high school programs.
I think this game is more about who has the ball longer. FAU only had the ball for 19 minutes last week. We held it for 35. We also held BG to 1 rushing yard for the whole game and are currently ranked 24th nationally vs. the run which is impressive considering we started with 3 P5's in a row and had a victory over one of them.
For those reasons alone, I like our chances. It also helps that we ripped off 243 rushing yards exactly when we needed to ignite the run game. Joc Bruce never played at RB with us before and had 115 yards and a TD. He's our new weapon I think. Anderson also got a TD and had over 100 rushing and a lot receiving too. I like where we are at this point.
It should be a good game but this is one we should win if we stop coughing up the ball.

When does Terelle West get back ? I would assume maybe this week
FAU should be tougher at home than they were at Buffalo
