Keep Isaac Holder at PR. At least he fair catches and doesn't muff or let it roll 20 yards behind him.

If we had last year's offense, this team would be undefeated. This offensive line is far worse that we thought and Roback is back to making bad decisions again. This is the best EMU defense in a generation and they deserve better.

Agree. Defense has been great! Roback tries to make the difficult throws instead of making the high percentage throws. Oline cant create any running lanes.

Man, I would not want to meet Crosby in a dark alley. He is one tough dude.

Man, EMU last Saturday loses in 2OTs. Lions lose on last Play. EMU loses today with final play deciding TD win or loss.

Crazy FB season.

Dear Friends,
In my opinion, this Kentucky defense may be the best defense Eastern will face this year. Yes, I would have liked to see our offensive line block better on their pass protection, but Kentucky's defensive line was ferocious. I don't think Eastern has to be ashamed of losing today. They played tough, and didn't give up.
I actually thought Roback passed the ball better today then against Ohio. Some here are calling for Turner to run with the ball more then he does, but I think Eriksen is the back for me. He isn't flashy, and isn't a barn burner, just steady and a power runner.

I agree, Ken.

We played a very good football team, on the road, against game officials who gave KY a lot of help, etc.

I just wish we didn't have a killer schedule... We will need a late rush to become bowl eligible.

Losing Austin Barnes to ECU is killing us. I can't believe we don't have a real punter.

As an alum, I'm extremely proud of how far this program has come. And I think hanging with a good SEC team till the end is something to be proud of. But sports just like life is all about recognizing opportunity and seizing it. This team could be 4-0. I think we should be in every game this year and have an opportunity to win. But special teams and the offensive line are in disarray. And I think we see how good of an offensive coordinator Kalen Deboer was for EMU. The new guy better get his act together before he wastes his opportunity.

RE: Game Week: Kentucky
It is amazing how in just the course of three years how far this program has come. This was an entertaining game to attend and who would have thunk that EMU despite all of its mistakes still had a chance at the end of the game to win it. It was a gorgeous afternoon and from our seats at the 40 in the upper deck my wife and I had a great view of the game. In addition over the course of the past two nights we have both been impressed with how friendly most of the folks are here in Lexington. However, the other thing that was clear as day was how frustrated their fan base was with their offense and that was the product of our defense which played an amazing game. There were fans that were texting others of whether they had left because they were disgusted with what they saw and I heard one other comment that described this game as "the game from hell."

I had posted in a previous thread that I thought EMU would have a chance because of the hang over from Florida and I think that was evident in this game. It doesn't take huge knowledge to see that. I also thought that in the second half they finally just let Brogan go offensively and we saw what we generally see with him, some good, some bad. He reminds me a lot of Brett Favre in his gunslinger mentality. It's a shame that special teams cost us tonight.

However, I still think this game ought to give us confidence going into the rest of the MAC season and against Army. This team showed they can compete on the road in big environments. Now we need to fix some things on special teams and who knows where we will go. Not to mention too this might be the best defensive team EMU will see all year and they still managed 20 points.

Progress sometimes comes in small steps. We have gone from being blown out in non conference games to competing in non conference games. Next step is to learn to finish the job. Despite the loss, there was a lot of good from this effort. Thata my thoughts from what I saw.

Weren't the TYL at least 10?

Kentucky 228 TOTAL yards
37 carries for 53 yards! 1.4 ypc
5 sacks
10 tackles for loss

AND WE STILL LOST!

Just shows you how terrible our offense and special teams were.

Sad, sad, sad

The sequence that killed us was the blatant pass interference that was not called. That would have put us into a good position to score. The refs don't call it and a play or two later the blocked punt. The defense was awesome today!

I wanted this win, not just a moral victory. Troy just went down to LSU and won, No reason why EMU couldn't have beaten Kentucky. Having a senior QB who doesn't play like a senior kind of hurts. The defense should get us enough wins to play in another bowl game. Overall, solid effort. Everyone has to be pleased that we are playing to win these P5 games. EMU definitely belonged on the field with Kentucky and could have won, in spite of some awful officiating.

Creighton should recruit me, rugby style but could convert.

I thinking the officiating was the difference in the game.

KY had zero penalties in the 1st half.
