But taking a knee during the Anthem is disrespectful?

Taking a knee during the anthem is disrespectful........and Trump was bashed in the media plenty for the two instances you cite...

How so? Is it disrespectful to take a knee before God or Jesus?

Stupid tom, just stupid.

You take a Knee before god in deference and submission... Were these guys giving deference and submitting to the flag.

No, so drop the bullshaq comparison.

Quote:which is the greater danger to the ideals embodied by the American flag, a few football players’ taking a knee at the national anthem or the most powerful man in the world’s demanding that they be fired and their livelihoods destroyed for engaging in speech he doesn’t like?

This is very well said. The president has long been hostile to speech he doesn't like, so I'm not surprised by his remarks but I am disappointed. This is a terrible look for the guy who swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.*

*yes, I'm aware this isn't a 1st amendment issue but it doesn't change the fact that the president is encouraging others to suppress speech he finds unacceptable.

I understand why also. That does not mean I condone these protests in the workplace. These millionaires have access to the media at a moments notice to voice their opinions on any subject they wish. They have a ready platform for protest outside of the workplace. Why don't they use it?
