Underrated moments in Southern Miss history
What are some great USM moments that people kinda forget about?

I'll start off with these:

2006 NC State football
2008 Rice baseball series win
2010 UCF football
Beating the **** out of Ole Miss basketball in Southaven. Forgot the year but it was glorious.

RE: Underrated moments in Southern Miss history
We didn't win, but it was pretty damn cool when a 2nd-ranked Memphis team played at RGC. Probably never have that chance in a revenue sport again.

I believe that game was in Gulfport that we beat OM.

You are right, that game was at the Coast Coliseum. Just looked it up. 2008 was the year. We played them in 2007 in Southaven.

-Our W @ UVA in ā€˜11. If Iā€™m not mistaken UVA went on to win their division in the ACC.
-Our W @ Navy in ā€˜11. Our 63-35 win stands as the most points ever scored by an opposing team at Annapolis. I was there. I remember there was an awesome 4 down goal line stand our defense made early in that game.

UVA finished 2nd in their division. Had a de facto division title game vs VaTech in Charlottesville and lost badly.

Underrated moments in Southern Miss history
Everything we've done is underrated by someone ( "you don't play anybody"..."SEC teams can't get up for you"...ACC teams can't get up for you"..."Sun Belt teams can't get for up you"..."You live in the past"..."you can get anyone into your school", blah blah frickin' blah) so the possibilities are endless..

He's not wrong.

To answer the question, football vs Virginia in 2010 at home is probably the greatest game nobody ever talks about. Down 17 at halftime, down 17 again midway through the 3rd, still down 10 going into the 4th. W.

Yep. Crap, I had even looked it up and then typed the wrong number anyway.

It's not a moment, but you know something else that doesn't get its due? The Pride's "Amazing Grace" at the last home game every year. What a beautiful tradition that is. If the Texas' or Michigan's band did the exact same thing, it probably would've been a feature on GameDay by now.

What year was that. I thought our win against Tulane on ABC regional broadcast in 1980 was our first TV game?

Correct. Finest tradition that we have. I always save my last dabble of Maker's to raise in salute during the crescendo......then a smooth swallow for the end of the home season.

Our first live TV game was at Tulane, the North Texas game was our first TV game ever. Tulane game was 1980, North Texas was 1979.

Yeah, I was at the game in Southaven. Not a good night! I had to endure the obnoxious attitudes of the delusional webel fans!03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead
