Jordan Strack reporting on twitter that Atariwa is likely out for the season with a broken leg. Also Skipper likely out for the season with a torn ACL.

Sucks for both of them.

Thanks for the info I figuring that Atariwa had broken his leg the way he was carted off the field

tough losses. you expect injuries but hope they are minor and not season ending. we've already lost at least 4 for the year (the 2 frosh ends and now 2 starting linemen). Got some decent guard talent in the rotation. Atariwa was a strong guy who could move some people and hold ground. not the quickest laterally. i imagine we will lose a little push up front but might be able to play a quicker guy who can help us a little more of pull and misdirection blocking. skipper should get a med rs, which is good cause who really worked hard to get to this point. hopefully each heals ok. it really looked like a lower leg break for atariwa on tv. hopefully, not compound and will get stronger after.

seemed like swanson sprained an ankle. week off is good, but you wonder if he might need an extra 2 or 3 for that fully heal. ankles can be days, weeks or months.

So Kassem and Jones are the starters now?

DL is more a rotation as i see it. Jones, Quinn, a lot of Adeniyi, some Norwood

heidecker replaced atariwa. kassem also gets backup snaps at guard. top recruit haslem is project to play guard, i believe. doerger from last years class is a guard.

Harris was getting reps at guard as well...only reason I noticed, was due to the penalties he kept getting called for....sucks to be on the OL...only time you get any pub is when you mess up.

Saw a lot of Harris at center on Saturday. Seemed to be doing a pretty good job. Don't know if it was him or Jeppeson that hiked the ball over Woodside's head.


BTW - speaking of Rocket OL, saw that Zac Kerin is playing in Detroit now and I believe is a starter due to an injury. I turned the end of the Lion's game on and the very first play was Kerin getting a holding call on a long gain that got called back.
