Not actually, the Kurds are pretty aggressive in their claims in the southern part of the Independent zone.

Those fights have been brewing for a long time and this independence move is almost certain to bring them to the fore.

I see this as a good thing.

These places are NOT "melting pots" and don't have a french statue and a poem dictating their residency policy.

The sooner these folks are allowed and able to pursue their own goals and aspirations, the sooner they are made whole. Lead a good life, make a decent wage, raise a good family, make the world a better place.

There are plenty of riches in damn near every Continent/Country/State out there, it's what's done there that is the issue. Look around.

More war, that's for sure. The Turks are certainly not happy...either.
