Shakif Question
Does anyone know if there is a reason why Shakif Seymour has not seen any time in the back field the last 2 games. I just thought with his size he would be a better goal line option that Swanson or Thompkins I think they are great runners but of course on the smaller side.

RE: Shakif Question
Most likely just because he is the 3rd RB who is still a freshman. Gave him carries early to get him game reps, but now turn things back over to your 1 & 2 backs in the games that matters

Same with Thompkins last season. He got 20 total carries against Maine and Fresno, but only got 9 total the rest of the season.

Don't know how Swanson is. Hopefully he is ok and will be ready for EMU, but if not, Seymour will see a lot more time.

RE: Shakif Question
mccrimmon and sims also eager to play. lots of talent there but a healthy swanson makes us better. if he's not full speed i think we see other backs and get him healthy.

Yeah, what about McCrimmon? In his highlight videos he looked like a future NFL back. Maybe Candle is keeping him in a secret hangar until league play starts?

At one point he was ahead of Shakif on the depth chart this fall

I think that he was red shirted last year and if so, I assume that his bench time is just a function of the depth chart.

Shakif had a carry for 0 yards against Miami. He should function as a goal line and 4th qtr back in MAC play.

RE: Shakif Question
depends on who is healthy. mccrimmon had a knee injury at the end of hs/beginning of college and I believe did a grayshirt and is probably at 100% this season for the first time in a while.

sims is a player. i imagine we will hear from him in time.

and i've been on the sharif seymour train for a while. at first it was mostly the name. but i love how he runs when his confidence kicks in.

the other thing is our oline is undergoing some rebuilding seasons. not the greatest we've had this year. but lots of talent in this and next years class that will need a few years to develop. i'd expect the running game to be strong in the future.
