Dunno how Troy isn’t top of everyone’s list. They beat NMSU. And they’re the only other Sun Belt team that’s shown signs of life all season. They’re 1-0 in conference and beat another non-conference foe. Pretty straight forward. It’s a shame App St choked at home or they would be top dogs.

I feel like we've shown plenty of signs of life.

1. App (Wake is pretty good this year, and the held on, so kudos).
2. Troy (I give them a pass for the close win, Akron isn't great but has a rep for playing better G5 teams tough)
3. A-State (looked bad without their starting QB? Most would)
4. Who Cares
5. Who Cares
6. ...

12. Who Cares

Not sold on NMSU. They beat UNM last year, too, and still only won 2 conference games

I agree with this standing as of today but I predict we finish Top 4 based on how the conference is performing and our favorable schedule. Should be a very interesting month ahead.

I can't put stAte ahead of someone who won a OOC game when they weren't even close to winning theirs. It's SMU not TAMU.

NMSU gets 1st this week but doesn't mean they will win the league (they did lose to Troy after all)
No disagreement here.

I agree, but lets think of a less crappy opponent than TAMU. SMU probably beats them this year.

Just cause y'all got clocked by SMU doesn't mean that A&M would . . .

FWIW: A&M is playing 18 freshman this year, and I still think they'd take SMU . . .

No way is Texas State worse than Coastal. They're at least ninth, ahead of the Georgia schools.
You'll find that TXST won't move the needle until able to win the conference and even that will begrudgingly given. UL 1-3 with 3 pt win over FCS is better than 1-3 TXST with 9 pt win over FCS because UL's FCS is better than TXSTs FCS and FBS losses are better than TXSTs.

We could beat UL, USA or GS and they'd get ranked higher.

Fortunately, I know where we are as a team so I take it with a grain of salt and sarcasm.

Why in the world are we ahead of anyone that won today. I know it's just an opinion....obviously not one I share.

Why are we ahead of anyone WITH a win ?

I think most go on a week to week basis... just how we performed each week, not necessarily how we are doing overall.

Mine are based on the aggregation of all performances so far, not just Troy/NMSU. NMSU likely would have done better vs Akron in my opinion.

some do only based on that week, others consider past performance.

We should start saying "weekly" or "long term" when we post a ranking

I would suggest "season power rating" and "weekly performance rating".
