Or was that just a Trial Balloon to gauge Donor and Fan Interest and nothing more?

It's both. If the AD proposes something and nobody funds it, it doesn't get built.

We're still waiting for the Reckling Park expansion. Lack of funding or a clever smokescreen for a plan to drop baseball?

??? No, funding committed and enhancements under way. Improvements will be done in phases over next 2 years. New scoreboard last year, Indoor batting cage next up and, I believe, already underway.

If the batting cages are happening that's good to hear. But these things take time because funding has to happen, is my point. If someone steps up with money for new luxury boxes or press box at the stadium, it will happen.

Almost all the money for the various planned Reckling Park renovations/enhancements/expansion has already been committed.

That is good to hear. I don't lend many compliments but despite the on field struggles, Josh and Joe have found a way to do a magnificent job fundraising for our facility projects. Tennis, EZF, Soccer / Track, Locker rooms, the floor at Tudor, the back of Tudor, Baseball...nearly every sport and facility has been updated since they're arrival.

I wish the teams would perform, crowds would show up and other revenues would follow it. Those seem to be freefallong. Those guys are fundraising machines on the facilities front for sure. This used to be a tough thing at Rice but they clearly have donors and the BOT on board for all things facilities. Kuddos to them for that. What a duo!! 04-cheers
