I wish they wore the black helmets all the time. Not a huge fan of the red pants either but they look better with the white jersey than with a black or red jersey

If they win I'm cool with the helmets.

The red helmets are usually my favorite.

Is the red anything to do with the patriotic feel of a game with Navy? It might be something like that.

I like the red helmets. Black and red are the two colors people associate with UC the most, with white being a tertiary color. I like rotating them in and out and trying new things, so long as the unis don't look ridiculous.

Like the way the logos on the red helmets are now all black.

It could be a test run for the red helmets as the Ring of Red game is next.

Never a fan of going three colors (the red, white, black combo last year looked hideous). Red-white-red looks alright, although I would've rather they stuck with black-white-black

I'll reserve judgment until seeing it on the field Saturday. Like many others here, I prefer the glossy black helmet for 11 out of 12 games each season. The matte finish in red doesn't highlight the bright, vibrant "UC red" and there isn't enough contrast between red and black for the logo to really pop, especially on a telecast.

I've always been told the players prefer black so I'm in the camp of black/white dominant combinations with a special for Ring of Red and a "one off" for a bowl game. Hopefully, we get to see a bowl uni combo again this season.

I actually like the helmet for the one off-- not a fan of the red pants. I would have preferred white tops with pants with this helmet.
