With 5 juniors on this year's roster, he will have ample openings to fill in the 2020 (next year's) signing class so I doubt he wants to save this opening to next year...that is, barring he can't find the right fit between now and April/May.

Just browsing the thread and saw this one. Irvine was put on scholarship after the first semester.

Jamia hazell committed. 5’7” guard.

Had offers from Clemson and all the nc mid majors.
Rated a 90/3 star on espn.

Sounds like a good pickup.

Excellent pick up. Is she a 2019 or 2020 player? Is our roster full for this season?

An excellent player, and one who will certainly help sustain the program’s excellence.

I’m still waiting to see if JMU can sign a quality player 6’4” or taller. JMU has about cornered the market on quality combo-guards and guard-forwards in the 5’6” to 6’2” range, however, without that big in the middle JMU is always going to struggle against top 30 teams, and we need those bigs if JMU is to advance beyond the NCAA first round.

Speaking of Kelly Koshuta, anyone know whatever happened to her? She seemed to have canceled all her social media accounts last time I looked and completely dropped off the radar.

Spotswood 6’2 forward Stephanie Ouderkirk committed to us today. She had like 15 other D1 offers. Also was the state 3A player of the year and plays for a nationally ranked AAU team. Good job Sean not letting local talent out of the valley!

Out-damn-standing! As Longhorn has stated, we definitely need some post players. Need more in fact.

Welcome to the JMU Family, Stephanie!!! WOOHOO!!

RE: WBB Recruiting/Signees
Watched a few twitter highlights. That girl can shoot the ball well from all over the court- not just layups and put backs against small defenders.

Blurb from her summer league last year:
Stephanie Ouderkirk – 2020 – 6-2 – Forward – Team Loaded 703 – High motor player…Leaves her mark on a game defensively…Handles for the #4…Does a lot of the little things that win games

Also saw that her parents were around 6'5"-6'6" and her brother is 6'9". Wonder if she might have a little growing left in her?

Anyone know if she attracted interest from Kenny?

This is great news!! I have watched Stephanie play during her high school career and she seems to get better each year. She has great basketball smarts and is solid in the classroom as well.

I am looking forward to her joining the Dukes next fall.

As far as if she garnered any interest from that place down the road.....don't know...don't care. She will look great in purple and gold!

Peyton McDaniel, 6'0 G/F out of Twin Valley HS, Elverson, PA has committed to JMU per Lady Swish on Twitter. Here's her recruiting profile https://www.ncsasports.org/womens-basket...-mcdaniel1 Kinda looks like maybe another Eleanore or.....could it be.....another.....Jazmon?

RE: WBB Recruiting/Signees
Just taking inventory of the 2020 class...

Including Tinsley now on scholarship, if my count is accurate, Coach O can sign 6 young ladies to 'ships in this upcoming class.

We already have 4 verbal commits. Two 5'7"-ish guards in Bailey Williams (Cosby HS, Richmond) and Jamia Hazell (SE Raleigh HS). And then, one wing in 6'0" Peyton McDaniel (Twin Valley HS, Elverson PA) and one post in 6'2" Stephanie Ouderkirk (Spotswood HS).

We are loaded with guards for the '20-'21 season with 3 point guards who should be juniors in Green, Tinsley, and Oppenheimer. Then, you add in Williams and Hazell who can each play the 2-guard I'm guessing. You've also got 5'9"-5'10" Carodine and Bellerand adding depth. Our Canadian sharp-shooter Marciszewski at 6'0" could play the 2 or 3.

We are in good shape at the wing as well with current frosh, Jefferson and Tucker, along with McDaniel coming in. I think both Jefferson & Tucker will be starters in their soph seasons a year from now.

That leaves us with the 2 Spotswood ladies in the post in Ouderkirk coming in joining former walk-on Irvine, who I assume will be on 'ship now.

Longhorn has been beating the drum for the need of post players. He's right. Coach O can run a 4-out-1-in approach, but even then we need at least 1 more - preferably 2 more - post commits...or, perhaps even a transfer. I wonder if Dukes volleyball star, M'Kaela White, and her long wingspan 6'4" frame would or could play 1 season of hoops a year from now. Maybe as a grad student. She'd have 1 season of eligibility. But, she may be playing volleyball professionally somewhere. Just a crazy thought.

Go get 'em, Coach O. Maybe while in Europe he can snag a 6'4"-ish post. 04-cheers

RE: WBB Recruiting/Signees
Apparently we may have some height coming in. Annalicia Goodman, 6'3 C out of Newport News (Heritage HS) announced her commitment on 8/8/2019, according to Raoul https://wbbblog.com/2020-commitments/7/ However, I'm unable to find out much about her and my other source, LadySwish, hasn't made note of this commitment. If she does indeed come in, this fills all our available slots, as I calculate it.

Thanks. Good find. I think we have one more available if Coach O wants to use it. Could be wrong.

As FYI, '20 recruit Jamia Hazell out of Raleigh remains listed as a 4-star recruit at ESPN.com and is #100 in the top 100 recruits in the nation currently... http://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-ba...class/2020
