TCU has been in the basement of the (erstwhile) Big 12, so......

Definitely not saying Kobe will be a bust, just that history doesn't seem to be on our side. I hope she's a home run and will definitely root for her.
But my expectations are low.
Over the years, we've had transfers come from programs that we were ranked higher than at the point of transfer. Syracuse and UVA come to mind as places where we've been the recipient of players from that didn't move the needle.
So that is why I'm excited about the Texas transfer. They were a top 10 team last year. Plenty of excellent players on that team.
The TCU girl, on the other hand, didn't start or contribute meaningful stats on a 6 win team. But we can probably use the experienced ball handing depth. Just don't let her shoot!

Not sold entirely…i’ll be on the wait and see bandwagon. #1 JUCO player is a very impressive feat, hope Kobe heals up and shows us what she can do.
I still look at a starting line up of Jamia, Peyton, Kiki, Clare, and Anna with a bunch of role players off the bench and young talent. This should be an easy 20-25 win season.

You won’t be alone in taking a wait and see position. There’s so many unknowns, players trying to come back from injuries, transfers, new coaches, etc.
The talent level is definitely higher (on paper) entering the season. I like the height of the Russian girl, but who knows if she’ll provide a physical presence the team needs? The transfer with the superb 3pt. shooting % (way over 40%) may be the most important add, especially if she can stay healthy and earn 25+ minutes.

OTOH, we've had transfers that came from smaller places that made BIG contributions. You do remember Jackie Benitez from Siena, right?I still miss that girl. And didn't Ashley Perez come from elsewhere too?

Lauren Okafor is another solid transfer for us and we even had a few transfers on some of KB’s mid-2000s teams that dethroned ODU.

RE: WBB Recruiting
If I'm reading her story correctly, she's only a freshman? Says class of 2025, so we're getting in on her early. An article I found says she's going to be a P5 recruit- maybe we can persuade her otherwise with some early love.

On another note, her twitter shows her sending the exact same message to the GW coach...

Looking at that link it seems like she already has a PR firm managing her exposure.

Jada Mills has committed to JMU for 2023 per LadySwish, but I can't find out anything about her. She looks like a sturdy young lady, though.

OK, I did find out a little more about Jada Mills. She's a 5'8 guard from Putnam (CT) Science Academy. She committed on Oct. 2.

I noticed yesterday that Middle Tennessee, where Kozlova came from, has a 6’6 freshman center from Moscow, Russia sitting on their bench. Wonder if Ksyusha could persuade her to come here? ?

RE: WBB Recruiting
Dumb question but has the signing period for the 2023/2024 season happen yet and I missed it? Or is it still to come. I can not remember.

Late signing in April, I think. Also, the transfer portal opens for like, a month or something after the season. That’s gonna be a s**tshow, I predict.

Anastasia Boldyreva is a Sophomore, having just completed her second season with MTSU. She starts for MTSU, and now has 2 years of eligibility left. She was the CUSA FOTY, and is built like a taller version of Koslova.
Makes me wonder if Koslova transferred to JMU (in part) because Koslova believed Boldyreya would take Koslova’s minutes. Seems that would be at least potentially true.
Boldyreva is originally from Moscow, so there is little question the two women know one another, and have likely played against each other too.
If Boldyreva declared for the portal and transferred to JMU does that start a war between MTSU and JMU? Some wars are worth fighting, no?
Boldyreva at C, Koslova at PF, Kiki returns for a final season as a SF, Peyton at SG, and insert a steady PG.
