Point is, this didn't start bc of Trump. It started with Manafort's Ukrainian connections which then went onto the kremlin. Just bc the wiretap was ended doesn't mean he was no longer under investigation.

Couple things here:
1. You have no idea whether her reason was legitimate or not.
2. And most importantly, it doesn't matter one iota whether her reason was legitimate or not because again, SHE DOES NOT GRANT THE APPROVAL OR DO THE UNMASKING! If there was not a legitimate reason, the IC denies the request.

So bottom line, they did not deny it, so it therefore by default was legitimate.

This is said a lot, usually just around here, but is factually untrue. When the "unmasking" is done, it IS the person ordering the unmasking that has it done, therefore the "unmasker".
