TXST has a pretty nice stadium. There isn't a bad seat. I was all the way up in the corner and the view was great.

That happens every game, regardless of the score. It's honestly pathetic. They go there for the student "points" then leave for the bars.

I know quite a few USM fb equipment managers and they say that the facilities at Texas State are BY FAR better than any other program USM has traveled to.

Saw a lot of UTSA fans (not on this site) complaining about our stadium...things like no fans/tvs on the concourse...we should have built a wider concourse or a separate concourse for the 2nd deck....the bathrooms are hot (95 degrees on Saturday)...the lights suck...no wifi...small video boards...etc...

You guys were handed the keys to a city-owned, taxpayer-subsidized, already-built, empty NFL stadium thats 25 miles from campus...that the City of San Antonio just spent $43 million dollars on upgrading (God knows why).

Our stadium isn't perfect but we built it. We had a 15,000 seat high school stadium 6 years ago and now we have one of the nicest G5 stadiums in the country.

And while we're at it, we've also recently built some of the nicest baseball and softball parks in the country...and we're spending $60 million on upgrading our basketball arena. You guys play on a ****** high school baseball field and in the worst basketball arena in the country.

Rant over...but UTSA is severely lacking in perspective.

Your team looked really solid...they looked and played like LSU (under Les Miles)...should be a great series going forward...

In our defense, most of our fans don't share the sentiment you described above, and those you heard or read saying such things were probably doing so in response to many Texas State fans heckling us about having to rent a stadium and not having our own. Without intending to bring back an old argument again, it's nice to point to your facilities when you've had an athletics program since 1904 while UTSA had no athletics program to speak of until 1981, and no football until 2011. The money just isn't there for us yet, but we'll get there.

There's nothing at all wrong with your facilities; they're nice. And we complain about our facilities all the time and don't need you or others to remind us of how substandard they are. We put up listening to others belittling our facilities every year. It's old news and some of our fans react in the fashion you described in your little rant up there. That said, even with our substandard facilities, we captured the WAC Commissioner's Trophy for having the best overall sports programs in our one year in the WAC. And if I remember, we also captured the same trophy in two of our last 3 years in the Southland Conference. It's been a bit tougher for our athletics teams in C-USA because it's definitely a step up in every aspect, and it's difficult to recruit against schools that have shiny, sparkling facilities for their athletes in so many sports, while we only have the Alamodome to help us in football. Once we find the money to upgrade though, watch out.

Now, the game is over, and we won again, so how about we put this on hold until next year?

Maybe because it's about to host like it's 5th Final Four? You're right that it's not ours and that it's 15-20 minutes from campus, but other than that it is an amazing facility for college sports.

As far as your stadium goes, I've always thought that aesthetically it is one of the best looking G5 stadiums. I didn't go to our game but I had been there before for a TxSt/Wyoming game and loved the way it looked. I've always though it's nicer than UNT's stadium which always receives a lot of praise.

After years of driving by and seeing that old stadium, I took my girls to Aquarena Springs for a girl scout trip a few years back, and happened to see just the exterior of the new stadium. I was blown away - what an improvement. It's very pleasing to the eyes from the outside as far as stadiums go. Hope to catch a game inside some time. Apples to oranges as far as the Alamo dome goes though, even as old as it is.
