They must have told him that he had to go to class.

Going to class was the easy part. The hard part was taking notes, studying and passing tests.

I had a summer school student who got an "F" at midterm (3 weeks). When she challenged her grade, I explained that she had not passed a single test nor done any assignments. On the next test she made an 84, and I patted myself on the back for getting her attention. For the last 2 weeks of that summer school she failed every test and the Final. When she challenged her final "F" grade, she claimed I had told her she only had to pass one test to pass the course. What I said, and what she heard were two different things.

Telling students to "stay in school" to some may be heard as "stay in the school building for a requite number of days per year".

They also lost one of their JUCO transfer guards(Jordan Brangers) who was supposed to be pretty good and PF/C(Robinson Idehen) when Mitchell came back. Both are (back) in JUCO now. Even with those departures they still have a pretty good team...on paper.

I actually think it is a smart move on his part. If he is as good as advertised, it doesn't make any sense in him having to play one year in school before he can go onto his NBA career. If he is a projected top pick, too much risk or exposure playing in college. Never mind having to pretend to go to class and have limited practice time.

This is going to happen more and more in coming years. And it should. College is for people to prepare you for your career. If you are already prepared, one year is not going to help and could possibly hurt.

Either do away with the one and done rule, or require two to three years in college.

If they make it a two-and-done rule, Kentucky won't have 5 players eligible to field a team in the second year.

When has BBHC Calipary EVER failed to field a team of top prospect players? They keep HIM on speed dial during recruiting periods.
