I'm talking about how they responded to the call.
All we see is the cops with guns drawn. At that point, they had not choice but to shoot him.
They were responding to a report of a subject with a knife and possibly a gun. They are going to draw guns in that case, not hand out vegan cheeseburgers.
Did they have any information about his mental state? Was he threatening other students?
What led to the call? Was he suicidal?
Did they get a report of an armed man, possibly with a gun?

Can't blame the cops but can blame the policy.. How in the heck do you not give cops on a college campus a taser or other non lethal method of take down.
As was covered in the video I posted, tasers against armed suspects are not an ideal situation.

stop making sense.
So, you missed the "course I wasn't there, who knows" part?!?
Don't most, if not all, of the Cops show up in vests? So now we've got a knife at a gunfight I guess. This guy was more a threat to himself than anyone else there, guess he got his desired outcome.
And you obviously missed the videos I posted showing just how quickly a man armed with a knife can traverse 21 feet and how difficult it is to hit a moving target in a limb. Go take some advanced handgun courses and get back to me with your opinion.
You're right, I missed the videos. They won't play for me for some reason.
But, again. Course I wasn't there, who knows? I'll let the judicial or administrative system sort this out. Not me.
Sorry about being snippy, I shouldn't have been.

None of those questions changes the fact that they were responding to a report of a subject with a knife and possibly a gun. The mental state, being threatening or suicidal doesn't matter. You approach with weapons drawn because of A. force protection and B. protection of bystanders.
By reports I have read online the officers were on scene for 10-15 minutes and despite multiple commands to drop the knife he wasn't compliant. At the point shown in the video the officers had been backed into a compromising position where their force was divided with one officer backed behind a barrier in a parking garage and separated from the other officers. Just prior to the gunshot the subject started rapidly advancing and the die was cast. This wasn't a cop being trigger happy...if that were the case they would have shot him when they first arrived. How anybody can honestly watch the video and not see that the cops were doing everything they could to avoid shooting this subject can only be explained by a hatred of law enforcement. I get that from you because you have made it clear from multiple statements over the years that you absolutely hate law enforcement but some of the others I don't get it.
Nothing could be further from the truth. I saw nothing wrong with how they handled this situation and only inquired about what happened before the video to determine how they were brought to that conclusion.

RE: Georgia Tech student killed by police
This dude's parents also seem like idiots who probably helped lead to their son getting shot....
The new face of normal....
Washington Post article
Here are a couple quotes from the article...
Quote:“We had no clue that there was an issue in the last four weeks,” she said.
Alluding to the fact that there were mental health problems all along.
Quote:“I will say this, that recently Scout has been slightly involved with the anti-fascist community and had expressed a number of anti-fascist ideas to me,” Bill said.
Why not add antifa to the list of organizations that "we" belong?
Quote:Both parents remembered well the time that Scout came out to them.
“It wasn’t a shock because we’re welcoming and loving parents,” Bill said. “It shouldn’t have been hard for Scout to come out but I think there were some issues involved there which is why they did a session in therapy.”
Lynne Schultz said that any of Scout’s mental health issues appeared to have been resolved and that friends had told them that Scout seemed fine in recent weeks.
His mental health issues had been resolved?....lol....yet he thought he was two people and that wielding a knife at a police officer and telling him to shoot "them" made sense.

You can't tell me a group of cops can't aim for the legs. One bullet in the femur disables this guy and he lives and gets treatment. There should be a standing order or command. Does everyone agree we have a 'come up with an ancronym' in this case CUWAA. If the responding officers agree, yes we have a CUWAA. They all shoot one time at the front of the thigh. One of them will hit the guy. After having their femur busted they will drop the knife and you call an ambulance. This sounds so basic to me.

Everybody who has gun training says hitting in the leg is hard to do. Real life is not like typical Hollywood. Its more like the Unforgiven where a bunch of people miss at point blank range. Why do you think so many people survived duels?
Sounds like you are setting up a cross-fire where the police are as likely to hit each other.

Despite a couple videos and articles being posted about why you cant selectively "shoot to disable", you still post this. Simply amazing. Have you ever held a gun?
Also, if you get shot in the femur, theres a good chance youll die within minutes
