3. UCF - Undefeated Knights are ready to play a real team

5. Navy - Two pretty good showings so far
6. SMU - I still believe in the Mustangs this year
7. Cincy - Defense is there but the offense needs to develop soon
8. Tulane - OU is tough but I still think Tulane has a pretty good team
9. Temple - Close win again UMass
10. Tulsa - Holy Toledo
11. UConn - Shellacked by Virginia
12. ECU - Three consecutive blowout losses

No one had the two division winners, Temple and Navy, at or near the top, as they finished. Can anyone say that it's a little too early to make such predictions?

I see these weekly rankings not as predictions or preconceived perceptions but a snapshot of the conference at week 3, so with a lot of American games left to play, these will change:
1. Memphis 2-0 win over top 25 team
2. USF 3-0 win over B10 team
3. Houston 2-0 win over PAC team
4. Navy 2-0
5. SMU 2-1
6. UCF 1-0 but based on only one game
7. (tie) Temple 2-1 blowout loss to ND, win over FCS and UMass
7. (tie) Cincinnati 2-1 shaky wins against Miami and FCS
9. Tulsa 1-2
10. Tulane 1-2
11. UConn 1-2
12. ECU 0-3

i dont do it on record but how good i think they are

1. Memphis- best offense in the league (passable defense)
2. USF- best combination of offense and defense (both have weaknesses)
3. Houston- best defense in the league, efficient/talented offense (but not explosive)
4. Navy- navy is navy
5. UCF- fiu is horrific we know that now, no other sample and eye test wasnt amazing despite score
6. SMU- super talented offense playing respectable, not horrible defense but not good
7. Tulsa- top 3 AAC offense, bottom 2 defense
8. Tulane- record not great but eye test were very respectable, 6-6 possible
9. Temple- par defense, subpar offense (but offense looks to be getting better)
10. Cincy- barely beat horrible fcs, needed miracle to beat bad mac..but defense is respectable
11. uconn- you atleast have a win..horrible pass defense
12. ecu- nice pirate ship
