Sadistic schadenfreude: Let's look at the CUSA East Division
MTSU loses two QB's to injuries and looks like a non-factor now as long as they are out.
Charlotte got handled by N.C A&M. N.C A&M...
Neither of the F_U's with shiny new coaches have stayed within 3 TDs of an FBS opponent heading into week 4.
Marshall's Offense still hasn't outscored its Defense and Special Teams (though the last minute garbage time TD did tie it up at 36 to 36).
ODU had college football's most impressive 30 point loss today.
Oh, and WKU is 0-1 in conference play.

The good news is someone has to win this division and will get a trophy.

Impressive? It was brutal to watch. O couldn't get anything going. Penalties didn't help either. Can't help but wonder how last years ODU team would have done against UNC,.. and if UNC came in 2-0 and not desperate for a win / trying to prove something.

Still games I think ODU has a great chance of winning on the schedule though.

Correction: FAU lost to $9 Wisconsin 31-14. That's perfectly within 3 TD.

They also pulled the redshirt from our 17 year old freshman QB who looked better than either of the other 2 that had been playing. Downside is that Lawry tore his hamstring and is out the whole year.

That's a push, it doesn't pay. Within 3 TDs I take to mean less that 3 TDs. And Wisconsin is going to be pissed they're only worth $9.

Just so you know, I am leading the drive to replace "#" (as in "#9") with "$". How am I doing?

Marshall may be the team to beat in the East.

I believe we are now. Tyler King is a legit RB that emerged today from an energy. He was a game changer, could really be the missing piece to tthe offense. We will see, if we beat cincy as miami should have, then i think we would have to be on top the east right now

Well, we played 3 P5's in a row. 2 of them are undefeated and will be ranked on Monday and the other one is 2-1 and we beat them. Not quite as mighty as Miami Oh and Kent State. LOL. Urzua isn't injured. He's just not that good. Banks is a better QB. I hope Stock gives him a shot this week.

We won't see any defensive pressure for the rest of the season like we've seen in these past 3 weeks. We'll be ok.

The only game I would put as a sure Western win right now is Charlotte. But there's 5 weeks before Western plays a Eastern team other than Charlotte. I see UTEP vs Western as a tossup so if Western get out of that game with a win it gives the team time to....

Oh hell what am I thinking. As of today I don't see 6 wins on Western's schedule if Western loses any of the next 3 games. Even then it may be a struggle to get to 6

Well, I do not know what is so different about the division? I just saw the two top dogs have a tight match with a last second (almost literally) FG separating them, and, all of asudden, WKU is in trouble? They are still a bowl team. Maybe even a championship team. Just wait until conference play starts. I think there will be far more parity in the C-USA.

That is still a ridiculous statement. By that metric 3 scores could literally be 9 pts. When people read "scores" they think TDs not FGs, you basically put a media spin on things as you bend the words to support your story.

This is a prime example of why preseason polls are stupid and pointless. Especially ones made on here by Ranking Nazis that only accept polls in line with their skewed views.

OMG, you have to be kidding. UTEP can only play 1 qtr per game. No way in hell they stay close to anyone left on their schedule. Even NMSU, a team UTEP has defeated 8 times in a row, is likely to put a beating on the Miners this week. We've bottomed out. I hope we get our new AD soon and he/she cleans house.

What is the feeling in Huntington regarding Doc? In any preview I did including Marshall I had a feeling that the wheels could come off fast for him - with the team, admin, and fans - if things didn't look a lot better early this year. 2-1 is not a bad record, but could it be one bad loss to Cincy or, ugh, Charlotte from going off the rails?
