I just pulled the lyrics from the two songs you originally complained about. Highway to Hell- the only "profanity" in that song is the word "hell." And I'm sure your preacher says that from the pulpit every week. And "Runnin' with the Devil"- it has not one single curse word in it. NOT...A...ONE. Answer a question for me- are you the dad from Dirty Dancing, or are you the dad from Footloose?

Did you miss all the people complaining about playing Liberty University, and the people complaining about charging for children? I'm the absolute last person to complain about anything to do with UAB football. I'm usually attacked for defending the university.

Profanity is not simply using "bad words," which is itself a bad description because words can not be bad. Gorifying hell and the devil is far worse than "bad words" in my opinion. I'm not even sure why playing the lyrics to those songs would even be considered.

Of course people have to mischaracterize what I'm saying to make their point, but it is clear this board would have a come apart if Christian songs were played.

People with these views complain with their wallets and their votes. Like I said, this isn't going to keep me from taking my family, but growing up my parents would not have attended if:

1. They charged for infants
2. They then played profane music on the loudspeakers

The two together are a deal breaker for some. People like this exist. Y'all can deny it all you want, but it's true. You either want more people to attend, or you don't.

If this came from someone who has not spent years acting the troll I might put more credence into the point of view.

Not only the music selection, but volume, & non-stop playing of it.
This music playing before plays has even filtered down to the high schools.

If you are at a pro game there probably is a little different standard than a college game & a different one for a high school game.

Not everyone listens to Skillet, family force 5, Lecrae, Toby Mac, Nine Lashes, Kirk Franklin, Red, Demon Hunter, for today, Newsboys, Fireflight, thousand foot Krutch, pillar, manafest. Not even I anymore. Certainly wouldn't want to hear the Gaithers at a football game if ever at all.

Fine with me. I don't care what kind of music they play.

This is annoying for sure, but it happens all over the place. At times they don't even turn off the song quick enough for the ball to be snapped when WE are on offense. Makes no sense. Like we're trying to disrupt our own offense.

It must have been a great weekend because Blazertalk is reduced to complaining about some pretty idiotic stuff.

I happen to prefer the non in game music myself. Play during timeouts, change in possessions, etc.

I spend to much time thinking about if they are going to cut off the damn music in time for us to run our plays instead of focusing on the game.

Really wasn't my intention. I guess I should have known that comment would get jumped on.

Totally agree. I also don't like it when bands do the same thing. I felt like AAMU's band played constantly. They were good, but it was distracting.

It's what they feel like they need to do when they are getting the crap beat out of them.

Very seldom do they really focus on the game unless they are playing State.

The playlist came directly from Ingram who got inspired when he went to a Chief's game and heard what they were doing. The marketing director nor the band likes it but the AD wants it so there you go. I really don't have a problem with it and wish they would play Men at Work's Down Under when we punt. They could play Rush when Anthony Rush makes a great play, etc..... be creative.

Just my two cents.

Wait... So we are saying the AD is choosing the gameday playlist for football games?

I was at that game Mark was at and let me tell you it was obnoxious. Not a fan.

Surprised Me So Horny wasn't played.

Wonder if it is another way that Mark is using to run people off.
