Bad news from El Paso
Arizona crushed UTEP 63-16 last night, breaking out for 35 second-quarter points after a scoreless first quarter.

Transitive qualities of comparative scores, I realize, are not a reliable predicter of future outcomes, but still one can't be but at least a bit daunted by Arizona's margin of victory.

It speaks, at least somewhat, to the proposition that: Uh=good. UTEP=bad, BAD.

Dims the enthusiasm a bit for tonight's game.

But let's be optimistic.

Yep, but the same river never flows part the bridge. They did have five players out with injuries from our game, including the starting QB.

I am more hopeful than optimistic. But who the heck wants to be known as HopefulOwl? I am optimistic that we will give a better account of ourselves than we would have a year ago.

By the accounts I've read, we had a solid performance against UTEP.
Maybe they're not as strong as we thought, and ESPN does give
UH a 93% chance of winning, but I don't mind being hopeful.

Hopefully, our D will put enough pressure on their QB to get him to make mistakes. Az had 2 int. We need to get turnovers tonight!

Az held UTEP to 17 yds rushing. Az held UH to around 150 yds rushing.

I'd rather be full of hope than full of crap.

But I'll settle for being both 03-wink

Transitive qualities of comparative scores, I realize, are not a reliable predicter of future outcomes...

In this case, it seems to be working.
