Nice touch that she included all the logos of the schools that showed interest (32 by my count!!)

That is impressive. We are getting players who are potential P5 recruits. I have a feeling Coach Langley will save a scholarship for a potential transfer since she has brought in exceptional players by transfer.

It's still early on and this list doesn't include the recent 2 committments, but it has Rice listed as the #30 recruiting class.

https://asgrbasketball.com/notre-dame-ma...-rankings/

So we have 1 more scholarship for next year?

Looks like she had primarily mid-major interest + Kentucky. She was the leading scorer on a team that had a 2020 recruit with offers from Oregon, USC, Florida, Georgia, etc., though.

That’s definitely promising!

We're currently ranked 40th in the country in recruiting classes for next year in women's hoops. I didn't realize Destiny Jackson is a top 100 national recruit in this site's rankings (#98), and India Bellamy isn't far behind at #108. Kaitlyn Crostwaithe (#159) and Lauren Schwartz (#280) round out the group.

BTW, the women will be introduced at halftime of the men's exhibition game Thursday night at Tudor. That's pretty much your only chance to see the 2018-19 Lady Owls in the next three weeks unless you plan on going on the road to UCLA, A&M or Little Rock.

I fully expect the women's hoops team to be every bit as highly ranked as the volleyball team this year (if we're healthy).

Top 40 is awesome and should enable Rice to become a top dog in C-USA, along with MTSU. Keep up the good work Langley!

Looks like Ashlee Austin was a McD nominee on the women's side. None of the other 4 selected.

Interesting. Didn't see her name on the list but thanks for pointing out.

I didn’t either but I got lucky and saw it on Twitter. Wonder if we’ve ever had two nominees.

Mulkey was a McDonald’s All-American but obviously transferred in.

Destiny Jackson was a USA Today HS fan voted player of the week or something like that last week.

A lot of talent on next year's team, although the extent of our success will probably hinge on what Erica's plans are.

I don't think Erica is ready for the WNBA myself. But I don't know if she's on track to graduate and she might just want to walk along with her sister at graduation and get on with her (likely) very successful life. Selfishly, I hope she comes back for a 5th year and a repeat NCAA appearance (we hope).

Erica's career plan is to go to med school; not the WNBA. She was accepted into-- and attended-- and pre-med Summer program at Stanford last Summer. Though I suspect she'll graduate with honors this Spring, I wouldn't be surprised if she returns next year as a grad student, and finishes her college career alongside her high school buddy and current roomy, Mulkey.

I wasn't even thinking about the WNBA, honestly. She has something like a 4.0 GPA in business/pre-law and participated in some sort of exclusive internship/program over the summer. I was thinking she'd go the Brian Nordstrom route, if anything, because I'm sure she'll have some professional opportunities.

And it looks like Walt has more details in the post above.

Women’s basketball really seems to be building something that can make waves outside of CUSA. Better do all we can to hang onto Langley because I have a feeling after this year programs will be coming after her hard.

I believe McCurry and Smith were both nominees.

RE: Women's Basketball Recruiting Thread
Looks Rice dropped a little in these rankings (now #51): https://asgrbasketball.com/notre-dame-ma...ankings-3/ .
Based on the McDonald's nominees, this site may have Ashlee lower than she should be.

103 Destiny Jackson
113 India Bellamy
156 Katelyn Crosthwaite
255 Lauren Schwartz
506 Ashlee Austin
