BOT Meeting
May wish to review tweets by @EdEnoch concerning the BOT meeting today.

Lots of interesting discussion besides just the intramural field proposal.

Espy questioning student fees that students are being charged. Not sure if he is talking about UAB or not but Espy wasn't happy obviously with UAB students voting on supporting football with student fees.

RE: BOT Meeting
In the BOT athletics committee meeting this morning, St John said "I think you can argue that UAB athletics is in better shape than it has ever been."

I don't trust him, but it's nice to see a positive comment from him.

I don't trust St. John either but for now we've shut them up. We just have to keep the pressure on.

RE: BOT Meeting
Ron Gray was appointed as the new President Pro Tem of the board. Not sure if his current stance as softened any, but he's been openly hostile towards UAB football in the past.

Brooks definitely changed course, but she's served the maximum allowed tenure as Pro Tem.

I would agree with him on that statement, but the better question would be is UAB athletics in as good shape as it should be.

Nailed it MB. If we'd truly taken advantage of the Gene Bartow golden years, the Mike Anderson era or even the early 2000's in football...we'd be in a much different place.

If we were allowed to take advantage of those we'd be in a much different place.

Exactly. Nonetheless, we need to take advantage of the right now!!

I wouldn't make that a foregone conclusion. Coach Acuff has the Chargers play very deliberately. Walk it up, pass, pass, pass, backdoor cut off a pick & roll, and they get a layup, free throws or a confused defender has left a 3 point shooter open. And the Chargers usually have enough shooters to keep you out of a zone.

It frustrates the hell out of teams that show up and win on talent.
