Re-Analyzing the 2017 EMU FB Schedule
After two weeks, the schedule doesn't look as tough as first thought as Kentucky and WMU have come down to earth.
Toledo is in a class by its self in the MAC (Many of us are not surprised), but the other 11 teams are beatable* (that's not a prediction but a statement that we could and should be competitive in those other games).

* Actually two WERE BEATEN.
BTW, I predicted a 5 - 7 record because I thought the schedule was much tougher than last year. Lot of 50 - 50 games this year. Games which could go either way (thinking of games like Ohio, Army, NIU, CMU, etc.) and some we have a chance to win like KY and WMU.

RE: Re-Analyzing the 2017 EMU FB Schedule
I think if we beat Ohio, then we are in amazing shape to go to a bowl. Only need to win 3 of our last 9 games, or (essentially) just the rest of our home games. Although, I think we all would be slightly disappointed with a 6-6 record after starting 3-0. If this team figures out how to consistently move the ball and finish drives, we will win wayyy more than 6 games.

Agree. Beating Ohio is key.
Then one of the next three (KY, TOL, Army), one (or even two) of the next three(WMU, NIU, and BSU), and then one or two from the last 3 games (CMU, MIA, and BG).
Beating Ohio gives us a realistic shot at 7 wins. ALL FBS!!!

I'm glad we're all onboard with my earlier prediction that we would win 7 games lol.
Beat Ohio!!!
One game at a time and let's go 1-0 next week!

Schedule still the toughest in the MAC. And honestly, I don't think Toledo is all that much better than the other top 3 or 4 MAC teams. They aren't far and away better than the rest of the MAC, like WMU was last year.
I keep saying they're going to lose to Tulsa this weekend, so we'll find out quickly if my hunch is right or wrong.
We have GOT to beat Ohio & Army, since Kentucky, Toledo, and WMU are also part of the schedule over the next 5 games.

I was also at 4 to 5 wins with a ceiling of 7. Lots of football to be played gentlemen and we need to stay injury free at key positons (like QB).

If we beat Ohio and then Kentucky...all bets are off. Could be a special season. Toledo will be really hard to beat... I need to see more of Shane Morris to see if he really is a Big 10 QB dominating the MAC for CMU, and WMU still has a lot of talent--they are probably going to be really difficult to take down. The rest of the games? Why not EMU winning those?

Doesn't matter what we focus on, we're not playing or coaching. The team will focus on the task at hand, we speculate and pontificate, that is what these boards are for, right?
