Off topic but it looks like Florida State will be looking for a new coach, maybe before the end of the season.

I think it will take two MAC games to see where this team sits. That would put us after the Ohio game and before the Miami game.

That was an embarrasing second half. It takes zero talent to play hard.

About what I expected. The biggest thing I care about... Did we get out of there healthy? I didn't notice any injuries but I wasn't paying close attention late. Anyone know how Jones is doing? I didn't see him out there. Losing him for an extended period would be a big lose.

Interesting that Rankin got the fewest carries (3) of our backs. He still seems like out best back so maybe part of that was to keep him healthy?

Of course, I hoped for more, but I'm not surprised, either. Penn State is a team that has legitimate hopes for a Big Ten title and a playoff berth, though they will likely not achieve that. Go back and look at how Hazell started in his first season here, and he inherited a better situation than Lewis has. I'm more interested in seeing how they fare in MAC play, and especially how much they improve over the course of the MAC season. Ole Miss is next. They are expected to be one of the weaker SEC teams. They are roughly an SEC equivalent to Illinois. If they lose down there as bad as they did at Penn State, now that would disappoint me.

Ole Miss would beat the snot out of Illinois. I hope I am wrong, but I envision something in the neighborhood of 54-17. My son and I are headed down to the game, so here's to keeping it close! 04-cheers

I agree dannyb73. While the are both expected to be at or near the bottom in their conferences, I think Mississippi would handle Illinois easily. I don't expect Kent State to win, or even come close, but I will be greatly disappointed if they lose by anything near the huge margin the lost to Penn State by.

Ole Miss can score, but they also give up a lot of points. That is why I predicted the score I did.

Both teams are coming off big blowouts. Kent plays Ole Miss sandwiched between Alabama and LSU. Makes me wonder if they will come in ill prepared due to looking ahead or if they will fully focus on this game to help with bowl eligibility.
