A&M is trash. They were tied with Nicholls State in the fourth quarter last week. That game was more a reflection of just how fragile the Aggies are than anything about UCLA.

Well when you have the top qb in college football your definitely no slouch.

I'm not sure how the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, whose numbers are actually up slightly this year so far, loses the Heisman and doesn't become the number one QB pick in the draft. Plus both of Lamar Jackson games were on the road against p5 opponents, while average over 40 points a game and still hasn't thrown a pick.

Josh Rosen is outstanding but most of his great numbers this year come against downtrodden Hawaii. His adjusted QB rating suffer because he can't run while Jackson adjusted QB rating surpass Rosen because he can run. Add to the fact that Rosen has played both his games at home, a luxury that Jackson has not had yet this year.

The only reason i would put rosen ahead of him is because he is your more prototypical nfl qb. Jackson while still very good relies heavily on his mobility.

So far the only qbs in the nfl that are still playing who can be considered mobile qb's are cam newton and Russell Wilson and of those two only cam still uses his mobility a good amount of the time.

UCLA had Rosen last year too. They were 4-8. They lost 6 of their last 7.

That's how I read it.

Last year doesn't matter... thats a terrible argument. UH only won 8 games the year before herman and then only lost one the next year.

Memphis has a better chance than the rankings would indicate. A&M is slowly turning into a dumpster fire before our eyes, and it took an epic collapse for UCLA to pull out the win.

Not underestimating them.. I think Memphis really have a shot at winning this game.

If you say so memphis just hasn't shown me anything that makes me think they can hang with an elite team. Especially considering they have lost a few key players on defense already.

How about beating us last year? Memphis is no slouch.

Ya but that game last year tom herman wasn't even coaching he was too busy counting the $ to bother trying to win. Not to mention our team pretty much was either entirely hurt or just had no motivation to win the game all due to tom herman.

Yeah, exactly like we were 2 years ago in Houston, with Fuente leaving, when we blew a 20 point lead in the 4th Q at Houston, then missed a FG our kicker makes 9 out of 10 times.

And we return almost everybody on offense and a lot on D. But yeah, Houston is so superior to Memphis. 01-wingedeagle

Well they give up a lot of yards. Hawaii out gained them in total offense last week. We got the offensive horses and can actually run the ball which UCLA can't. We can eat up more clock

Not saying the cant win. Anything is possible but saying its going to be easy when they struggled to beat a bad g5 school is not a good sign.

Dude, we led by 20+ almost the entire game. ULM scored 2 TDs in the last 5:21, when we had our scrubs in.

Plus, the game was a frigging monsoon, and we passed for 97 yards. You think we gonna do that again in good weather?

Also we beat you in 2014 and 2013 with levine both years paxton lynch and fuente was at the school. So the argument is kinda pointless.

I'm not saying anything to do with the UCLA game. I'm simply taking issue with you judging Memphis based on "struggling with ULM," which we did not do. Anyone who watched the game would get that.

And right now, UCLA is a 3.5 point favorite, so I'd say most reasonable people would give Memphis a decent chance to win.

I personally am picking Memphis to lose a close one, but the answer to the OP question is, of course they can beat UCLA. Will they? Who knows?
