RE: USA Today NCAAF Week3 re-rank
We have one week to enjoy being #1 til we play UNC and Va Tech. I'd like to thank my mom, dad, God, and my dog for being here where I am today, I wouldn't have been able to make it without them. It brings a tear to my eye to think of how far we've come. Started from the bottom. Now we here.

Tech shouldn't be ranked that high.

Same for ODU. Defense has been stellar against weak teams, but the offense hasn't looked sharp at all.

I was a little surprised FAU didn't move up a few spots.

I'm feeling slightly optimistic for some reason. Must be Lawry coming back.

Middle is undervalued relative to the group.

I'd agree. Among teams with two games under their belts, I'd take a split with P5 teams over anything that anyone else has done thus far.

We keep playing like we have been and we'll be top 100 by late October. go Niners.

Not picking on anybody. Just pointing out how absurd this is. Charlotte lost by 48 and moved up 4 spots. Marshall lost by 17 and moved up 8 spots. What must they think of our league?

Marshalls 17 pt loss wasnt that bad. They were nearly leading by 10 going in to the half. Some unfortunate circumstances turned the tide, which is understandable. But overall the performance against the ACC's apparent number 1 or 2 team, they showed some positives. CUSA may have their hands full with the HERD this year if they continue to get better. Although a home loss this week to Kent St. should begin to sharpen the etch-a-sketch, and transform my opinion.

Houston beat a lower ranked team and went up 18 spots, makes no sense

you can thank teams like LaTech and WKU for 2 of the 18 spots. These early rankings have a high margin of error. They are mostly based on early expectations, then as 5+ games are played, start to have substance.

Easily. Maybe Miami & VT too. We'll see, it's still early.

Also jumped: Tulsa, TTU, UCF, Texas, ODU, WVU, and Colorado State based on less impressive wins.

RE: USA Today NCAAF Week3 re-rank
This is the most positive the polls have been to MU in years. I do not know whether we are deserving of that high of a spot yet, but I think our 3 year run of 10+ wins has somewhat improved the image of Marshall football.
