I must be missing something here. Or there is a communication problem. In order to get a parking space in an NIU donor lot, don't you need to be a donor? If you are not a donor, it's park in the Convo lots, correct? So what is the difference between a tailgating space and a parking space?

Maybe I missed that. Only by request? I guess I assume as a season ticket holder, if that is part of the package, I shouldn't need to ask for them.

I donated $300 for a tailgating pass bought 2 East side tickets but still had to ask for the 2 endzone club passes. You have to ask for them because then your eligible tax deductible donation is reduced because you receive something in return.

If I had bought 5 East side season tickets I was eligible for up to 5 Endzone Club passes (5 X $55ea < $300 donation)

Not that I know of. I assumed 17Huskies tailgating spot was not a donor spot.

I'll admit I'm an idiot, but I don't recall receiving anything about that. Again, I could have missed it. And when I went to the HAF portion of the website, looking at benefits, it isn't listed.

So then anyone who has season tickets can get a pass to the Endzone Club? Gee, that place could get awfully crowded! Is that for the season? One game? Any game? Something is not right here.

No you have to be a donor of at least $55 for each season pass you ask for.

That gets you a book of tickets for Endzone Club for the season.

However, if you are not going to use them then don't request them because...
1. They will raise the donation cost if they see a spike in requests.
2. Your tax deductible donation will be reduced.

MANY HAF donors qualify for them but don't know they do and just have to ask for them.

Same thing goes for other benefits like the Nelson Club for the MBB games. Donors donate $2500 for a Zone A spot and only have 4 bench back seats ($600)...don't take advantage of also getting access to 2 Court Side seats/Nelson Club if they buy 2 MBB season tickets...or more WBB Court Side seats (don't see the cost for those yet). Even with that you still have enough for 4 Endzone club passes.
OR
Could get 4 Nelson Club only passes if you donate $100 more to $2600...but then I don't think you can get the endzone club passes.

Okay, then. So anyone who donates $55 to the HAF and has season tickets can get a season-long Endzone Club pass? Therefore, if I have four season tickets and donate a minimum of $220 to the HAF, I can get the Endzone Club passes for the season for no additional cost? If this is correct, people better take advantage of this. And, if this is correct, why is this not publicized?

I agree it is really not clear on the website. The info was a tad clearer on the packet but unless you study the materials and ask many questions you really wont know. I told a HAF person back in March of 16 about how confusing it is and that people don't realize how many benefits are available to them for what they donate now or for just $100 or $200 more.

No its the opposite...the Endzone pass is included in this years Coaches Club pass.

The Coaches Club & Endzone Club pass is $700 per pass

Okay, let's continue to play. Someone has 4 chairback season tickets. At $150 per seat, that's a $600 premium as a HAF donation. That mean's the buyer can automatically get 4 season-long Endzone Club passes for no additional cost? If this is the case, it is a free benefit that should AUTOMATICALLY be included with those season tickets, or the purchaser should be given the option to reject them.

Thanks HJ. I really appreciate it.

I likely wouldn't use these, but one would think HAF could do a much better job conveying this info.

Humm...you got me questioning it now. If you were to donate $820 then you would but I am not sure if the $600 donation for the chairbacks count as a physical benefit or if the donation opens you up to the access of the chairback...which would leave you the ability to buy the benefit of the Endzone pass...if that makes any sense.

I honestly took off this past off season from knowing this stuff forwards and backwards...so try calling HAF and asking nicely?...I seemed to put you in an off mood and I was just trying to be helpful.

BUT even if this person did qualify for them HAF is going to want to spend the least amount of donation on actual cost as possible.

Just like if someone donated 10,000 and they qualify for 4 Zone A parking passes. If they dont ask for them and don't have plans to use more than 1 but HAF gave them 4 would you be put off if you could not buy a single Zone A parking pass at $2500 because there were no more spots available because this other donor was automatically given a benefit that they didn't ask for?

These are limited resources so HAF isnt going to give something that a Donor did not ask for.

No, it's not you. I just find it incredulous that this is not better communicated and publicized by the HAF. It is obvious that many of us have questions or did not even know about this. My wife and I were mentioning at the game about so many issues of poor communication. The yearbook/roster card change is just one example.

Just because you qualify for, in this example, more than one parking spot they don't "give" you more than one or what you ask for depending on what others have requested. This year if you are a coaches club donor you get tickets to the endzone also.

The donor should KNOW about what is available to him/her as a benefit. It should be the donor's option to accept or reject it.

If I ran a bank that offered $25 to open a checking account, but I did not tell you about it, how is that good for developing business and happy customers?

Agree...that was kind of my point in the conversation I had with Tim back in march of 16.

To add to this, the booze in the Endzone Club is not free. So, the more people who know about this benefit, the more people will visit the Endzone Club. And, you don't go there to sit and play cards. You go there to buy drinks. And you know what that means? MORE REVENUE!!

Same goes for the Nelson Club where they also have a premium cash bar.

The professional speakers absolutely killed my families tailgate and was quite uncomfortable in how loud it was. Also, some of the music played was not very "family friendly" as many explicit lyrics were being sung. including multiple "N-bombs".

I do have to give credit to STF and his support staff, who I contacted as this was going on. STF came over personally and realized that the new placement of the DJ was probably not the best idea. His staff also emailed me today to say they were being moved back closer to the stadium and the songs would be on radio edit.

I dont have a problem with the students having their fun, just wasnt happy with how it overshadowed my experience, especially paying what I pay to park my RV at games.

I hope that STF and staff continue to evaluate and make changes as needed to accommodate all tailgaters, donors and students.

GO HUSKIES!!!!

04-cheers

IMO, the music everywhere is bad and way too loud. The music in the Yard was so loud that that my group could not hear ourselves talk. We had to walk away. And, what is this with the fear of a few seconds of quiet while the game is going on? Between plays and until the ball is snapped, the DJ blasts what he calls music. Do people constantly need their senses stimulated with loud noise? I'd much rather hear the HMB, who are one of the best parts of game day. Plus, they work so hard only to be overshadowed by blaring noise.

This. I am a a college game - I WANT to hear the Huskie Band. I do not appreciate that the band is playing their hearts out & those stupid untuned overly blaring horrible loudspeakers come on & over shadow them. It was an issue last year too. I think we do need to send an email to STF about this. Let the band play most of the time - supplement the band now & then with the PA.
