Indiana St. Game Thread
27 Indiana St.
45 Liberty

Attendance: 18,000

I think the Flames get off to another quick start and then let the Sycamores back into it until Liberty pulls away in the 4th quarter.

Game will be on ESPN3 again at 6PM (7AM here in Korea) and will be carried on radio.

Indiana St. 20 - 22 E. Illinois
Indiana St. 07 - 42 Tennessee

This should be a comfortable win for Liberty, but I think back to how they manhandled us several years ago. I know we are both totally different teams now.

Until someone finds a way to shut down our passing game I don't see less than 40 for our side.

LU 45
Indiana State 24

I fully expect this to be a close game. They are good enough to beat us if we are sloppy and penalty-ridden like last week.

This week Buckshot will see 4 quarters for sure.

I'm very confident with the team right now. I feel better about the team now than I have for a long time. Of course, knowing Liberty, we always have the ability to be upset so I have to be cautiously optimistic. I think LU comfortably wins against Indiana State by about 14. Let's go with 38-24. Sound pretty good there, right Ewglenn?

Exactly my thoughts. I think LU is better all around but eventually there will be a game where everything isn't clicking. I expect this to be that game. Jacksonville State is definitely the marquee game remaining, and with last year I'm sure the players want that one bad. I expect this game to be to be close the entire game. It will be too close for comfort but never have to really worry about losing the game. A late TD seals the win and everyone can breath easily.

I don't know why...perhaps too much Cool Aid or just raw unbiased review of the team, but I feel we will dominate again this week. The team seems to be firing on all cylinders and not just emotion actual talent on the field.

I guess that's the difference for me so far this year. It's always appeared to be major hype and emotion each and every summer leading to a team that was sub-par and never lived up to what they claimed. For the first time in a long time, the product on the field is matching the commentator or school hype.

I will go with:

Liberty 34
Indiana St: 14

I tend to agree. I've never seen the offense this consistent. Our defense is a bit bipolar, it gets a lot of nice stops, but then just rolls over and gets exploited at times. But regardless, as long as our offense can execute, giving up points won't matter as much. I think it will be a good measuring rod between the extremes of a P5 and a Pioneer league team.

RE: Indiana St. Game Thread
Run defense for LU this year seems to be the weak link. LB and defensive backs are playing well. LU seems to be playing as well as it ever has and with Farrow and Golden on the sides, it hopefully opens up a strong running game to compliment Calvert's emergence. I believe it is going to be close.
LU 31

I don't think we can put much stock in last week's performance. Though Morehead is FCS, they more closely resemble a really good NAIA/NCAA II school. We should have dominated them like we did. I think we meet somewhere in the middle between the Baylor and Morehead game.

Extremely lucky to get that win. Terrible coaching decisions.

Whew-wee! That was a squeaker. A win is a win none-the-less. Beginning to see a trend on defense..... of not having a defense.

Holy Guacamole! I turned the game off too soon and missed all the drama. I thought we got the ball on downs. I'll have to watch it again to see all the excitment.

Don't forget..... we're 3-0.

Attendance dropped to 16,060. What's up with that? I thought for sure this season, and given our start, we'd be averaging at least 18,000+. Where are the fans?

16,060 attendance was lower than what most thought it was going to be. If LU squeaks past Jax St next week, and comes home to play St. Francis undefeated on the 30th, and there's less than 20000 , many of us have been caught up in the hype of the ideal of local LU appeal vs what is the reality.

Nice win! You got to get one or two like that to have a shot at a perfect season.
