I was sad when SDSU pulled out of the expansion of the Big East (due to Boise).

Eh, I was happy since the American had since lost Rutgers and Louisville, and I like regional conferences. That is how it should be.

Furthermore, relegating our basketball program to the Big West would have destroyed it, so it wasn't worth it (And I don't even care about basketball).

I would have supported joining the AAC if the dollars and cents made sense. Alas, it didn't then, and still doesn't to this point.

For your guys to have non football in the Big West the football $ and situation would have to be premium. IE, the AAC schools add you, BYU, Boise, all get $8-10mil/school and an auto bid to an NY6 bowl. That would do it, but I don't see that happening in all likelihood.

I would skip over to this conference, call you all my brothers, and celebrate that day if it happened. $8-10 million would be spectacular as would some kind of "auto-bid."

A Western Division with BYU, Boise, SDSU, Houston, and SMU would be fun. However, no auto-bid is coming, and I expect the AAC to get about $3-4 million in their next TV contract. Thus, there is no benefit for BYU, Boise or SDSU to join this conference.

The MW is fine. We are all in the same boat until your scenario happens. I sure it hope it does though. I like the MW, but SDSU is getting to the point where we are a "program" and not just a handful of recruiting classes. We need to keep growing.

agree...if all the AAC gets is $3-4mil/team/year then yes, there is not point for you guys to join and it would be a bad move for you.

I don't see the $8-10 mil and auto bid either but yeah, if that happened, and you guys joined, it would be really fun. The only way that would happen though is you guys come to the table with Aresco and get the agreement "if we join, we want xyz" prior to you joining. It would be worth a shot at least. Worst case tv says 'no' and that's that. I'm sure everyone in our boat is exploring every avenue.

Agreed. A lot will be determined over the next 18 months.

Your team however, has no chance to win. Sucks, I know.

Ma'am, I think you have our team's chances against Toledo confused with your team's chances against Stanford. Might wanna get your phone outcha purse and check that again.

Ok. We'll see. I don't think we are going to win. But it will be close. The fact that you are comparing playing Stanford and Toledo is funny though.

You may keep in close, but have zero chance at winning on the road. You'll be lucky to finish 6-6. Enjoy.

lol you are horrible at projection by the way

but rules are rules no disappearing post game

Look at the AAC OOC projections. I am actually doing quite well so far. We'll see come October.

Now i have to go find the thread where pesik called you out and your trash picks are.

Still renting, but almost there. Will also be expanding the campus. Only getting better.

Best part is, we'll probably be second or third in the G5 for attendance, only behind BYU, and maybe ECU, but ECU cannot find a way to win a football game.

also I can see not wanting to join after losing UofL, but losing Rutgers? lol, that program is hot garbage. Losing them didn't hurt anybody in the AAC I can assure you.

We'll get 8-10, but probably not the auto bid and thats with out sdsu.

There will be no western expansion unless byu changes, even then we arent going to california. Why would we want to?

I honestly cant even tell you who sdsu has played, when, and whether they loss or won. Strictly non trolling here. Their games finish too late and nfl rules sunday mornings.
Just for reference did you see what time the houston/arizona game was done at?

If you really want them lets put them in the east. Tulsa is not interested in going west. Pretty sure SMU has had enough of the wac times. Memphis and Tulane idk about but i doubt they want to stay up till 1 or 2 am and get zero coverage of the game. Houston might, but i doubt it.

Quit teasing the mwc posters bc, they are already going to need medication when the new deal comes out.

Unfortunately for you, others feel differently. Considering Rashad Penny was the "Walter Camp Player of the Week" it appears people do notice.

Look, I do not know why there is animosity here. I have said that I like the AAC, and watch the games. It is a fun conference, and I root for AAC teams when they play Power Five teams. They have a built in advantage over the AAC, and AAC teams are scrappy and spunky. I think your program is cute, and am impressed how you do more with less. Just enjoy the season.
