What does the playbook say to do on 3rd-and-93?

Really surprise by the score I thought La Tech would have been more competitive.

Ok, so how did that 3rd and 93 happen? Didn't get to watch/follow any games other than my runners today due to work.

SI has a video of it but essentially it was a high snap that kept getting kicked and pushed all the way back to the 7 yard line on the opposite end of the field before being recovered by a Tech player.

Just saw it. That was insane. I don't think we have ever seen or ever will see anything like that.

Should have punted. That might have made them the first team in football history to punt on third and goal.

Here's a link to the video: http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=20652865
And it ended up 3rd and GOAL ... from the MidTenn's own 7 ... (i.e. 93 yards away).

My son told me about that while we were at the Western game...
thought he was mistaken till he showed it to me while I was driving home. Well one thing is for sure this play will make it to espn's award show and be played many many times this season.
Western had a first and goal that ended up back on the Western 40 but not on one play. I believe it might have been in the Tech/Western game year before last.
Not looking forward to next Saturday...I think it's going to be a totally different type game than our last 2. At least on Western's side of the scoreboard.

RE: ***Mississippi St @ Tech--game thread***
My thoughts on the game. Our offense is terrible. Our receivers are slow and can't get separation and our QB has huge ball security issues and is playing to not make mistakes and not to win the game. Our defense is much better and will keep us in games. Over half of the points Mississippi State scored are on the offense not being able to move the ball or prevent turnovers. Amik Robertson is an absolute stud at corner, have fun dealing with him for the next 4 years CUSA. And finally Dan Mullen is an absolute **** sucker, he's on my **** list for protesting a TD with 15 seconds in the game in a blowout even though it shouldn't have been a TD.

NWST lost to Grambling by 20, Tech offense with young QB and no Trent Taylor, Dixon or Carlos Henderson lacks playmakers. Tech's Defense did not look bad except for a couple big runs. 7-5 would be best possible record for this team possibly 6-6

The most freakish play I've ever seen. And we deserve all of the embarrassment that comes with it. I do not think I've seen such a let down in The Joe. Our offense and special teams gave them 27.
The defense actually did "ok" considering all the nonsense in the game. We did run the ball fairly well even after abandoning the passing game. I think we still need to find out what we do best on offense. There is talent - just loads of inexperience.

Tech players have nothing to be ashamed about regarding that play. Lots of snaps go awry every week end for one reason or another and this one just got booted around by no particular player on either team and just kept going backwards. It was a fluke, could have happened to any team.

Yep. Its kind of funny with the yakety-sax over it.
All that matters is how the team grows from here, I am not one to let this bad offensive performance destroy any hope for the team. This game should be a motivator, if they lacked one.

Definitely not we can still compete with the likes of FAU, UNT, UTEP, Rice.......

From what I've seen, LA Tech will be lucky to finish 4-8.
