Biggest Football Win in EMU History: 1987 Cal bowl or 2017 Rutgers?
I'm debating whether or not our victory to become 1987 MAC champs, 1987 Cal bowl champs or today's victory over Rutgers is the biggest win in program History.

I would have to say the win over Rutgers is our biggest win in EMU Football History.

Out of curiosity, what sayeth you??

Oh God no question, California Bowl. San Jose State was a really good team too. Rutgers most likely won't win a Big 10 game this season. Still both wins are great for completely different reasons.

I'll take the cal bowl. I'm loyal to that era of my life. This win is huge though in terms of getting attention. EMU fb needs that. Maybe even Mlive will show up (And I hope CC kicks them to the curb).

Cal Bowl, but hopefully this is just the start of a season that leads us to an even greater win.

Dear Luckeyone,
I would have to say the California Bowl because Eastern was a big underdog, and yet, was able to pull the upset over San Jose State.

Luckily Coach Creighton will take the high road and not ban the media from covering the team if they are so inclined. He already got the last laugh by erm...WINNING!!!

I dunno Bob, Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota, and if Indiana or Purdue get bitten by the injury bug, Rutgers could win.

I believe Rutgers win at least two games in the B1G although I have not checked their schedule.

Actually I'd take the Michigan trophy indicating wins against WMU and CMU.

And we've beat B10 in men's basketball several times and it hasn't defined or improved the visibility of that program.

Still beating Rutgers hopefully is the start of regularly beating P5 schools.

Dear Luckeyone,
Rutgers plays Nebraska, Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, and can't remember the others, but I don't see many wins with the teams I listed.

Thanks Ken,

Whew brutal schedule! We have to remember not to get down on the MAC Conference if our brethren loose to a B1G opponent because the B1G is probably the toughest conference top to bottom. It looks like Maryland, Indiana, Purdue and Illinois are on the rise. I mean Maryland and Indiana look tough! These games will make our MAC teams better. WMU was very competitive against MSU. Don't overlook the Spartans.

At any rate, let's get back to EMU!!!!

I'm going with this win, because the Cal Bowl means nothing to the future of our program. This win is monumental in so many facets; breaking some long long and ugly records, the team learning to win down the stretch even when they do not play a perfect game, all the publicity we are already getting from the local news and radio. This game can be looked at as our coming out party!

I can't compare the two, but this is the 'right win at the right time.'

I remember seasons, not many ago, where after two games we had our heads down and ready for college basketball.

Second week was usually a 'money game' and some of them were brutal say 30, 40 or more point losses.

This feels a lot better. 03-cloud9

Not to denigrate your win because it was a good one - but of the 14 football teams in the Big Ten, Rutgers is 14th.
