Having threads that actually have to do with AAC sporting events? Oh the horror!!!

If you don't like it, don't open it. It really is that simple.

It's not good, but has happened in recent times.

Here are a couple of interesting facts that I found when looking up Villanova. In 1961, when they were FBS (division 1-A, now FBS), they defeated Wichita State in the Sun Bowl. Apparently, WS was FBS at the time as well.

More interesting, in 1962 Villanova played in the Liberty Bowl, in your back yard. Who knew?

Touche. I was referring to the OP attacking multiple fanbases on here for not starting game threads. But if you want to be an a-hole I can promise you that you won't win that battle. I suggest you tread lightly.

I don't have a problem with the threads. I have a problem with you calling out the fanbases for not starting a game thread on this board when they have a large thread on their own board. There is no reason for it.

Virtually my entire life the game has been played in Memphis (since 1965). I always remember it being played in Memphis. So no I didn't know where the game played in 1962. I don't even know/remember if we had a TV in 1962, much too young. I guess you're much older then me, or looked it up.

Probably a lot of facts, both football and otherwise that most on this board don't know, without looking it up.

The Liberty Bowl was played in Atlantic City one year in a building probably smaller than the Kibbie Dome before it ended up in Memphis too. COGS 02-13-banana 04-jawdrop 07-coffee3

Bad time to tank especially when your trying to build an new stadium. Seems as if Temple is heading south again with out the previous President who was fired who strongly supported the project. Is Temple headed back to the abyss and lack of administrative support with this new president. Losing Ruhle doesn't help either. Did he use everyone else's talent and then leave the cupboard bare before jumping to Baylor this year. Is the stadium a dead issue. I don't hear anything about it coming out of Philly anymore. The only thing I hear about on Philly TV and read about in the local news is that the project is stalled if not dead because of a bunch of stadium stomper protestors and the fact that the local community just doesn't want it. 04-jawdrop 03-banghead 07-coffee3 04-cheers

Temple has never made any tangible progress in building a stadium.

Readers have wasted their time discussing an issue which has never been more than a fantasy.

No space, money or support of more than a couple hundred people, 99% of which wouldn't or couldn't spend $500 toward it.

Completely false. Temple has commitments of over $50 million dedicated to an on campus stadium. I can't say if it will happen, but these types of projects typically take many years to come to fruition. In the meantime, kenney, stop lying.

As for the game, if Temple cannot improve its running game, and defend the short pass better, we could be looking at a long season. The fact we only scored 16 against an FCS team , no matter how good, is telling.

Baylor fans deserve to melt down. Their rape scandal makes the psu one look small time. 31 players 59 rapes swept under the rug to protect the football team? Sickening, especially considering their evangelical holier than thou attitudes.

I will try to explain. Lehigh scored 35 points against Nova week 1. Lehigh is a mid level FCS program. Lehighs players are smaller and slower than Temples and they do not have the team depth we do. Temple scored 16 points against Nova. Winning is great, but we have significant concerns looking ahead to conference games. This is why Temple fans are anxious after a win.

It is a matter of perspective, I suppose. After the 41 and 30 points eviscerations Memphis suffered last year in basketball to end the season, I try to savor every win for a short period - including the one over UL Monroe - before turning my mind over to concerns revealed by the game.
