Eleven - 1.8
Eleven...as in 11 yards is the longest run from scrimmage JMU's defense has given up in three games.

1.8...as in the average yards per rush the JMU defense has given up per attempt.

One more statistical factoid...to date a JMU's run defense has given up 170 yards (after subtracting for tackles for loss). That's not 170 yards per game. That's a 170 yards total.

I'm assuming these stats will go up as JMU enters CAA play, but they are still remarkable. At the beginning of play last season we couldn't stop anyone. What an incredible turn around. What's even more scary, I think the defense is going to continue to get better.

Great stuff. To add on, I keep bringing it up because 1) it keeps going and 2) it's pretty dang amazing...

...JMU has now for the 9th game in a row given up 7 pts or less in the 1st half.

Our 1st team defense has (still) given up 7 pts all season - a 3Q TD at ECU where our offense gave them a short field at our 25 yd line.

One more thing, I sense that our fanbase more than ever now gets jacked up when our defense gets out on the field. Love to see that. Not just the crowd noise to help our D, but contrary to years past (at least Richmond last year and previous) watching our D was scary. Now, it's just fun to watch our DL's have a party in the opposing backfield almost every play.
