Exclamation RE: Open Thread - 2017 Football Season - Week 2
[Image: Lindys.png]

Lindy's is picking Auburn to upset Clemson:

Quote:No. 13 Auburn (1-0) at No. 3 Clemson (1-0) 6:00 p.m. CT
You’ll be hard-pressed to find many teams around the country with the combined offensive and defensive line talent that Auburn and Clemson possess — which is always critical to a championship run — but this game more than likely will come down to quarterback play, being able to run/stop the run, turnovers and the kicking game (sounds cliché right?). Both teams are breaking in new starting quarterbacks. Clemson rolled out dynamic dual-threat Kelly Bryant in its 56-3 win over Kent State a week ago and Auburn unveiled Jarrett Stidham in a 41-7 win over Georgia Southern. Bryant, an electrifying runner, has never played in a game of this magnitude, nor has he seen a defense like he’s about to see. Stidham, on the other hand, has been in a similar environment. He started at Kansas State and against a highly-ranked Oklahoma team before a season-ending ankle injury cost him his true freshman season at Baylor. Stidham looked rusty in his first start for the (Lee County) Tigers, but he settled in as the game progressed. Auburn’s offensive line had some protection breakdowns last week against Georgia Southern and if that happens this weekend Stidham will pay for it. But the return of bruising tailback Kam Pettway — aka “Bubba” — should ease the pressure off AU’s new QB. Pettway’s presence could also open up opportunities in the passing attack if he can churn out big chunks of yardage on the ground. This should be a great game, but I think Auburn has the edge at quarterback, running back and kicker, which will sway the outcome to the visitors liking.
The Lowe Down: Auburn 26, Clemson 23

If you hurry, Hokie, there is still time for you to join the ACC Pickem and take Auburn. You would have a game up on the entire field if they win.

RE: Open Thread - 2017 Football Season - Week 2
Similar to the first half last week, Louisville moves the ball up and down the field in the first half (355 yards) but is in a close game. Cards up 20-14.

Duke up 21-10 on NW near the half.

Jax St beating Georgia Tech 7-3 late in the half.

Man ... East Carolina just fell off a cliff hard in like 2-3 years.

Also, as expected, the fans and team came out of Week 2 in a total hangover. Those two fumbles and field goals torpedoed all the good will and momentum of last year's finish. Sigh.

RE: Open Thread - 2017 Football Season - Week 2
Louisville 47 - UNC 35
-Cards pile up 700 yards of offense and Jackson goes for 393/132 and 3 TD's passing and 3 on the ground. The Louisville secondary desperately needs preseason All-American CB Jaire Alexander back next week vs Clemson because they are getting torched without him.

Duke 41 - NW 17
-Duke dominated in surprising fashion. Daniel Jones threw for 305 and ran for 108.

Georgia Tech 37 - Jacksonville St
-Tech only led 10-7 at the half but pulled away in the 3rd against a quality FCS opponent.

I wouldn't have been picking Auburn, just saying Lindy's did.

Syracuse... choked.
Virginia STILL can't beat a team like Indiana?
Pitt was outclassed by PSU (but covered).

NC State is struggling with MTSU
Clemson is losing to Auburn

Last year was great. This year - not so much.

Sorry Marshall fans... still shocked by that MTSU/Syracuse score. At any rate, NC State pulled away in the 2nd half.

Nice win by Clemson over Auburn. Defense gave up 2 FGs in the first half, no points in the 2nd half.

Notre Dame hung with Jawja but could put the pound puppies away.
South Carolina won, so that noise isn't going to stop any time soon.
At least Ohio State lost.

Dunno why you are shocked at one mid-major beating another.

You're welcome ACC.

Shouldn't be shocking. Typical Notre Dame.

We are talking about South Carolina.....the only fanbase that is playoff bound after beating NC State and Mizzou.

Oklahoma wins the battle of Clemson's postseason *******.
