RE: WKU--Illinois Thread Big 10 network 7pm
The more I think about this game, the more depresssd I get. WKU should have never lost to that team.

- At least 6 flat-out drops by the receivers, maybe more
- Stupid mistakes by the offensive line...penalties were drive killers
- Dumb pass by White out of the end zone on a dumb play call when the O-line isn't getting ANY protection
- Put together a drive and then fumbled (though it shouldn't have been overturned to a fumble) in the red zone
- SIX. YARDS. RUSHING.

Also, I will never for the life of me understand handing the ball off 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage when it's 3rd and 1 or inside our own 5. Saw that at least a few times tonight

White freaking threw the ball laterally to the outside 5 yards behind the line scrimmage, who had 3 men covering him when he had a huge hole in front of himself. White can take those nfl dreams and watch them swirl down the toilet

RE: WKU--Illinois Thread Big 10 network 7pm
If it was up to me Mike Sanford would have been fired in the locker room right after the game. Then Todd (Western AD) on Monday depending on the answer to one question. For setting back this program...YEARS. This is not a FB school so it will be hard press to get fans excited after this **** up.

I would ask Todd what offense you believed Mike Sanford was going to run. No two question. Why did you think it was a good ideal to pay a no name, nobody, with very little coaching experience and no head coaching...$800,000

But that will never happen. So we are screwed.

Mr Bow Tie (Pee Wee Herman) Western's president looks like he doesn't have a freaking clue. Western down 20 and looking lost. This clown walks from the sideline into the stands, laughing and taking selfies with people. This after Western punts while on the Ill 35 yard line down 20 with almost 5 minutes left in the 3rd qt. Hell he should have told Todd to fire the coach right then.

I had seen enough so I told my son...lets go. Only the 2nd time I left a Western football game early going on 9 years of FBS. The other time was the beat down by ISU (FCS). I sit through a lot worse beatings and in rain and 90+ degree heat and sunshine. But I could not take this ****.....

funny thing is...I knew it when this asss was hired and came in wanting a COMPLETE change...coaches and systems. That right there is the reason Western's AD's job should also be on the line. But Mr Bow Tie (Pee Wee Herman) Western's new president is probably too busy looking like a clowns asss to care.

Boys, settle down. 10 games left. Most importantly the league schedule. 2 games into a new regime is not the time to get out the pitchforks. The last 2-3 years have been very good ones, not many schools can continue that unless they're named Alabama.

I dont think many of us expected the past few years results, but the pure crap that got laid of the field last night is unexceptable with the talent our coach has to work with.... apparently he is way over his head. FIU, Charlotte or UTEP would have beat WKU last night and more than likey will

This is true but after 5 years of good offense it's hard to see the incompetence of our coaches. Willie T was wet behind the ears but he knew what he was doing. He learned from one of the best. I was hoping that this guy would be the same. Not holding my breath anymore.

Alabama didn't get where they were without demanding excellence at every turn. Success didn't just fall into their lap (money probably did though). I do not want our school to taste success and then just accept ebbs and flows as par for the course. I want us to demand to be the best, I want our AD to demand it, our President, our players, and most importantly our coaches. Abd if our coaches won't demand excellence, then they need to go. I'm very curious how Nick Holtz would be doing as HC right now, especially considering the epic bowl game performance he put on his one game.

After last year for us, I totally understand. I wanted our OC gone. But even with yesterday's loss to NC state, I saw a better Herd team than last year and feel good that we will be right in the mix for the league this fall. Have to tweak our run game a bit and secondary play but we should be OK. Hell, Southern Miss hit rock bottom and they are coming back. It happens to all of us. You'll be fine.

Real talk though, you guys are good friends, bringing us up while we're kicking ourselves on the ground. I know a lot of crap-talk happens in conference play, but you guys are some good dudes

I haven't given up on this team, the coach, or the season. We all knew there'd be some bumps in the road. It's way too early to lose my shiite over a rough start to the season. Adjustments after a loss are the true test of a new coach. He can't control dropped passes and fumbles but there are many things he can control. Next week will tell us a lot more about this new regime.

I'm not trying to be argumentative or petty, I just feel the same exact thing was said last week. How does one change his coaching style from week to week?

.
A lot of over reacting going on. Was this embarrassing? Heck yes. I think losing Lamp, Taylor, Norris, Wales, etc. hurt us much more than we all expected. Like others have said, White had several balls dropped and Ace Wales is soooo much better than Ferby. We could lose the rest of our games that being said because most of the talent is young. I may join the sky is falling bandwagon after next weekend, I guess we will see.

RE: WKU--Illinois Thread Big 10 network 7pm
Here's how I see it: if WKU wins next week (or looks very competitive), then there's still hope for a good season. And maybe, just maybe, the offense gets it figured out by the Vandy game in November. Though not probable, 11-1 is still possible. But if the offense still looks incompetent next weekend (against a LaTech team that gave up a ton of points to Miss St), then it's really time to worry

Hey guys, you'll be fine.... the receivers will get more experienced as will other areas. Hell, Illinois might turn out to be a pretty good team this year... there still conference play coming up. Won't you just step back from that ledge, my friends?

We had 6........ 04-jawdrop 6 yards of rushing to a team playing 18 true freshman ...... we are screwed. Looking back, i have no clue how we beat EKU

No one wants to agree with me but Marshall's problem last year was the O Line. We didn't have the same starting O Line in any game last year. We lost Michael Selby 6 games into the season and his career was over, Clint Van Horn was never healthy and missed 4 games, Sandly Jean Feilix back was never right last year. By the 7th game we had 5 players who started that wasn't in the line up.

With all that Doc kept red shirts on O Line players Alex Salguero, Sean Behrens, Will Ulmer, Alex Mollette and Tarik Adams. Doc could have easily pulled all of their red shirts but to me he was smart in leaving them on.
