Outdoor sports at Rice this weekend: tennis and XC
In addition to some tennis deal in New York, this weekend is the wild card qualifying tournament for next month's Texas Tamale Company Houston Cup.
Play begins today (Friday) at 4 pm at the George R Brown Tennis Center and concludes with the final at 1 pm Sunday. Here's the bracket:

The other outdoor sport at Rice on this beautiful weekend is the Rice Cross-Country Invitational, tonight (Friday) at 6:15 pm (women) and c 6:45 pm (men):

RE: Outdoor sports at Rice this weekend: tennis and XC
In men's tennis, 1-seed Mohamed Abdel-Aziz (fr.) went 1-1 and lost in the quarters after a first-round bye. Another freshman, Jared Aiman, went out in the first round. Our last freshman on the roster, Jacob Eskeland, was a 3-seed with a first-round bye and also lost in his first match. Junior Daniel Warren went 1-1 and lost in the second round to the same player who would beat Abdel-Aziz. Two-seed red-shirt sophomore Eric Rutledge, a transfer from Wake Forest, has had the best weekend by a long shot. He qualified for the final this morning and will play at noon for title.

Link for the results.

E: Eskeland wins the final in 5 sets! His opponent, Kevin Zhu is a five-star recruit out of Pearland. He graduates high school next fall (one semester early) and is verbally committed to Penn.

What is there to say about this soccer team? Are they playing as expected?
