Good deal. I like that we're getting locally broadcasted games when not picked up by another station.

I had a friend tell me about it and added, "Seems like everyone wants to hitch their wagons to UAB."
I really hope the increase in local business support is a realization that supporting UAB is a mutually beneficial, symbiotic relationship.

Channel 6 is owned by Raycom which in turn is owned by the Retirement Systems of Alabama, which is in turn made up of money from most employees at UAB. I wonder if this is just 33/40's contract finally expiring and Raycom/RSA wanting to pick it up. Since it's managed by IMG on the UAB side, all of that might not mean anything anyway

I read the story. Does anyone know if there will be online streaming of these games for those of us who live outside the viewing area?

Apparently the deal with FOX doesn't include blackouts for home games based on this week.
No mention of online streaming as far as I can tell.

I'll pay that fee. Just so long as I can watch my Blazers.

It's not that hard to stream a video online. You'd think it would be easy for a university to stream a football game that isn't otherwise televised. I'm surprised we haven't had "unofficial" streams from the community.

Technical difficulty isn't the reason a game is or is not streamed, it's always going to be cost and/or legal and contractual reasons
