EIU predictions
Tale of the tape

Massey Ratings

#147 EIU @ #97 NIU
Massey projected final score: NIU 35 EIU 20
NIU win probability 85%

Offensive Rankings

EIU #185
NIU #90

Defensive Rankings

EIU #149
NIU #93

Interesting to note Massey sees an EIU win percentage over NIU in this game as the exact same probability of NIU going into Lincoln and getting a win.

I actually like the projection and think NIU survives, but think it will be tighter than the 15 point line Massey has. You final score:

NIU 31
EIU 26

NIU-31
EIU- 17

Defense is good enough to win this game, them and the offensive line give team a chance to run and take the game out of the QB's hands. (hopefully)

RE: EIU predictions
This game is damned if you do, and damned if you don't. By that I mean unless we win by at least 21, we suck. If we lose, we really suck. Unfortunately NIU can't afford to buyout our homer coach. That's life in the slow lane. Frazier has lost all credibility with other institutions, and has no chance of moving up the ladder. That said we are stuck with these guys. I personally would chip in a grand to get rid of homer!

RE: EIU predictions
I think this team has talent and a will to win but will struggle on offense unless a QB not named Graham emerges.

RE: EIU predictions
With Santa playing, I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes, but considering EIU struggled offensively against Indiana State, I like NIUs defense to cause a lot of problems.

NIU run game should also dominate. Both Jones and Huff go north of 75 yards each.

EIU predictions
This game will be telling and not the obvious ways. Last year at Wyoming the team came out with energy and fought. It was after that they came back seemingly defeated and had an apparent loss of enthusiasm. I think if Carey has learned his lesson and promotes confidence we win big.

More importantly I think the team as a whole, particularly the defense, is highly encouraged after BC and they will bring that confidence with them. BC game was lost by poor decision making on the coaches end and missed opportunity. If you look at play especially on defense it's clear they could be something special. Even on offense to put up 400 yards on a presumably top 25-15 defense is extremely encouraging.

Santa takes his risks and throws two pick with two TDs and 250 + yards. Jones has a big game on the ground because they limit the QB carry. Defense makes big plays all day.

RE: EIU predictions
EIU did win their opener but the opponment was INdiana State. Huskies physicality should tell in the 2nd half. Huskies should win 35-17 at least.
