USA vs Honduras
Biggest game of qualifying so far and could go a long way in determining if the US even qualifies. And the only place you can see the game is on a spin off of Al Jazeera Media Network. BeIN.

RE: USA vs Honduras
That may have been the most important goal in group play this year. Was looking at a possible 5th in group and having to beat Panama to make it to the play in game. But that goal keeps them in 3rd with a goal differential advantage. Worst spot at end of the day is 4th.

RE: USA vs Honduras
Our team is trash. I haven't been this disappointed in our team in a while.

I blame the MLS. The DP rule trashed the league from a developmental standpoint. We either have old washed up players from Europe, or players in their prime from Central and South American playing the most important positions on the field for most MLS teams.

Young Americans aren't getting meaningful playing time in the MLS anymore. It's killed our development of players.

The USL is going to have to save our national team. WTF.

You aren't going to be a good soccer player if you don't play competitive games from age 18-24.

RE: USA vs Honduras
The game in Honduras was exactly what every away game in CONCACAF qualifying always is:

Foul, Foul, Foul, Cheap Goal, Foul, Dive, Time Waste, Flop, Set Piece Goal, Red Card, Final Whistle and both teams get a point.

No reason to be disappointed in the overall performance in San Pedro Sula. Gonzo has a brain fart gifting them a goal. After that, the game was a slugfest that ended where it should have.

This is the first time we've secured 3 straight results in away Hex mathces in 20 years. That's not bad.

If you want to be mad, be mad about the Costa Rica game. If you look at the projected goals for that game, it was US 1.4- Costa Rica 0.6. Tim Howard was more or less responsible for both goals by quickly going long ball while his center backs were spread out of position expecting a short pass. Of course, Ream didnt cover himself in glory on the first or Geoff on the second, but they were already playing out of position and scrambling due to Timmy's mistakes.

Howard is still not 100%. But the play of our defenders is sickening. In the CR game both goals came on a 1 on 2 or 1 on 3 situation. 1 guy beats all our defenders by himself.

The goal in first half of this game the defender totally screwed up and just lost track of the ball and tried to knock it away and missed. The keeps must have some help as they can physically cover only so much of the goalmouth. The defenders must take away these angles.

RE: USA vs Honduras
In the CR game, both goals came because the CBs were out of position due to Tim's quick long balls. Urena wasn't 1 on 2. He was 1 on 1 with Ream on the first goal and Cameron on the 2nd. Once Ream recovered from the initial Urean run(which he didn't necessarily do quick enough but still did), he actually did what he shouldve done by marshaling him wide.

Honestly, Tim is at double fault for the 1st goal bc he was way out of position in goal on the shot. Urena shouldnt have scored from that angle if Tim is positioned properly.

As far as Tim not being healthy, he wont ever be 100% again....he's just old.

Yes, the Honduran goal is all on Gonzo.

Yes, the Honduran goal is all on Gonzo.

On the first CR goal i could have gotten into the area. Both defenders just allowed him to come forward without even attempting to pick him up. A mac trick had room in between the defenders.
