Toledo is a 9.5 favorite?
Very surprised we are favored by that much. So what Vegas is saying is that on a neutral field Toledo is two TDs better than Nevada? Seems a little high, I'll take any win, even by one point

I agree Nick. Must be the handicappers view the Rockets' passing game superior to that of Northwestern. They also had the Wildcats as 24 point favorites so there's that . . . .

I am surprised as well. Maybe a lot of the Vegas crowd got caught up in the preseason hype about UT based almost entirely on their high octane offense-----but as we saw at BYU last year as well as in seasons prior to that, a high octane offense always provides a lot of video highlights but not necessarily a win.

Just to set the record straight it is actually the bettors who may have gotten caught in the hype about the high octane offence, not the betting establishments. Truth be known as we all know Vegas doesn't really care about who is good, who is hyped or even who wins; they just want to move the odds to ensure an equal number of bets are placed on each team so they can confidently make the payouts without dipping into their own pockets while of course they collect their guaranteed fees from the winners for "brokering" the bets.
