Cage the Elephant and WKU
Most people knows who Cage the Elephant is, just after 7:30 tonight they sent a tweet to WKU asking to put on a free event following a WKU football game. WKU AD just replied...DONE! Should make for really fun night and this is the type of promotions WKU really needs to help get people coming to the games, if we can ever get them here, most of the time they keep coming. Awesome that Cage the Elephant has offered to do this for WKU.

That is awesome! I saw Cage the Elephant open for Stone Temple Pilots in Denver in 2010. Can't wait to see them at WKU!

That is great! That oughta increase your attendance to about 3800.

Sorry I couldn't resist. We got no reason to dis. Our stands were like a ghost town with Kentucky in the house. Sad.

I've seen them play at Western about 5 years ago and also at the 420 festival in Atlanta 3 years ago. The Shultz boys (Matthew and Bradley) are huge Western football fans. They're solid. I have most of their cds. Matthew is nuts live.

Him and Sam from Future Islands are the first 2 folks I can think of if I were asked "who's the most possessed performer when on stage?"

SoMs Eagle, please don't take this the wrong way because WKU's attendance and fan base is no where close to USM. I consider USM the best traditional football program in the new CUSA. I am just curious why you had 22k on Sat for an SEC opponent. I thought you guys would easily have 35-40k.

Any idea or just sign of the times with HD tv?

No idea. Fans are really bummed about the totality of things the last few years.
Anyhow I hope we get back to some level ground this year. We seem to have the kind of talent we used to have so maybe we will level out and the fickle fans will return.
Hope to get you guys at the Rock for the CCG this year. We owe y'all one!

Beed, Brad knows more about WKU football than most "fans" here in BG. Good boys. Proud of em.

Awesome move. Love Cage the Elephant. Have they announced which game yet? Saw someone suggest the Tech game which seems like an awesome idea personally even though I can't make it.

That seems like it would be too soon to get all of that together.

Ball State (Sept 23 - 6:00) would be ideal to increase attendance, but the band is Las Vegas that day so its a no-go.

Charlotte (Oct 14 - 3:30) seems like the best bet to me because the concert would end up being at about 8:00 and its also homecoming weekend.

FAU (Oct 28 - 3:30) again would have an ideal start time and game needing something to boost attendance

MTSU (Fri Nov 17 - 7:00) wouldn't work because the band is scheduled to play in Mexico City the next day (and it would be cold for an outdoor concert).

I vote October 28, mainly because I can be there 04-rock

Your probably right on, would make most since, as the game was done and the sun would be setting..... the party would start with Cage the Elephant
