Cute! Hope you and many ETSU fans can make it to town for the game. As your coach said in his presser it's not many times you get to play the #1 ranked team and defending National Champion. You'll know exactly where your program rests relative to the best in the FCS division by games conclusion, so don't be too disappointed if the results aren't competitive.

My personal prediction is the ETSU players will play hard and with enthusiasm, but the game will be out of reach by half-time. Mid-third quarter you'll see JMU pull its starters and the game could end up being a bit more entertaining (by ETSU standards). I don't think our coach will want to embarrass your coaching staff, many members of whom he respects.

Just watched the ETSU head coach's interview, what a classy guy. He knows there is only a slight chance the pull a win on Sat. but takes this game as a learning game to evaluate his team. Lots of respect for our team and coaching staff. Looking forward to meeting these guys on Sat.

SO true, I have a Mexican stepson Chihuahua I inherited when I married my wife (who is smokin' hot) and whenever I walk him around town alllllllllllll the chicks stop and oo and aww over him. Chicks love Chis.

I watched the same thing and he was very complimentary of JMU. He and his staff have done a very good job bringing football back to Johnson City and their new stadium is very nice. I hope they build a good program over the years. I applaud them in accepting the game and the cash we are paying them for making the trip up I-81.

I believe that Coach Houston and his staff will have the players in the right frame of mind. To date, they have not taken anyone lightly on the schedule last year and I doubt they will do it in 2017. Any team can have a great day and win a game, including ETSU. If we make mental errors, they will and can capitalize. I expect we will crush them so badly in the first quarter that their spirit will be broken but that's why we play the games.

I think we'll win, but no trash talk from me. We're still an FCS team with (mostly) FCS talent. We're going to have bad games. We're very beatable.

I'd like to see us beat RU silly, but everybody's MO needs to be STFU and let the scoreboard talk.

Given their defensive performance vs soft Houston, I'd say the chances of an RU beat down are high.

ECU had zero credibility to trash talk us. They were 3-9 last year and were proven to be delusional. We actually had reason to be confident and we backed it up.

While I understand your point, we are fans on a message board. When I'm at a game and we beat the pants off a team, you'll never see me running around them bragging about our win. On a message board, when other fans want to come here and mix it up, I like to have fun with it. When a 3-9 team comes over here saying they'll thump us, I want to tell them why they're wrong. At the same time, if we get our butts handed to us, I'll be the first to congratulate them on being the better team.

Even NDSU, a program that has solidified itself as a powerhouse, has fans that trash talk and mix it up with the better of them. There's a big difference between talking trash when you have nothing to back it up versus talking trash when your team gives you validation to be confident in your team.

Of course we could falter and lose, because any team can lose to anybody, but I'm not going to live my life in fear of what might happen. Should I be pessimistic because we might not win? Of course not. I refuse to be afraid to speak my mind because of what might or might not happen.
And until it happens, I expect our team to have 40+ margins of victory and be undefeated. If it doesn't happen, I'll shrug it off and move on and continue to support my team and have fun..... and be delusional as any good fan should be.

I prefer 94's attitude to some of the hubris that goes on here and AGS. No one on here knew the result of the ECU game as fact. It's all conjecture and opinion, no matter how informed and reasonable they may be. I personally like to modulate my attitude based on the audience. To esteemed rivals like W&M, Villanova, and Delaware I'll be civil and respectful. To nefarious opponents like RU and admin apologists, derision is the soup of the day.
