I didn't notice anything significant from the stands but am just catching up on media after making the drive home today. I know there will be nicks and bruises in any game but if that's all we came about with, that's awesome.

I don't recall any Dukes being helped off the field thank goodness. Feel for the Pirates though as they had game stops for at least 3 or 4 guys. I thought I saw Marshall with a slight limp coming off the field early in the game, but he erased any concerns about that of course later in the game.

(btw, not saying there was anything wrong with MM at all...don't want to start any unfounded speculation...I could've been seeing something that wasn't there I fully admit)

ECU should be so lucky. Seems several pirate players were hurt in the game (hopefully none seriously) by JMU's physical play. Ironic considering injuries is often cited as a concern when FCS teams play a FBS opponent.

Yes, this provides more evidence against the little brother syndrome some on this board have Had forever. Being afraid to play FBS programs due to perception that injury risk is higher = a complete fallacy.
In any sport you should want to play the best opponents if you have a competitive bone in your body.

There is injury risk in every football game and I'd argue the biggest fear is when a team leaves its starters in the game after the outcome has been decided. Why risk an All-American O-lineman getting rolled up during meaningless minutes?

The Dukes had starters out there at the end of the game.
We'll see how quickly they get pulled in any blowout victories this year.

I think you gotta think about our conditioning/strength programs too - Big John kills it.

Completely right, you get hurt or worse, injured, when you're tired. I think our guys go into 4th almost as fresh as the 1st. We didn't have any guys taken off the field.

ECTC had at least 3. Hope they're okay. It didn't look good for 76. He was not putting any weight on his injured leg.

Yup. This isn't nearly a big enough emphasis at some programs. Luckily we have one of the best around. I looked in the 3rd quarter and it didn't look like any of our guys were gassed in the 3rd quarter. Didn't pay too much attention in the 4th, but that's also when we were running away with it, so I just figured we were fine...

I always chuckle when I see pics of Big John wearing a hooded sweatshirt in early August. I would love to talk to him.

The 3rd quarter was basically when we broke the game out. Cardon's first big run was the first play of the second half. We dominated that quarter.
