And yes as stated Arkansas state is much better than NIU this year
Huff had 9 yards on 5 carries, what am I missing?
Yep that's what I mean. As long as Huff is here, he will never seen consistent carries. I would have bolted long ago. Carey is an embarrassment. I am not one of those people that instantly says Fire this coach and fire that coach. This is a case where a coaching change needs to be made. The BC game was a perfect example of a coach costing a team a game, almost single-handedly

Again, Jones looked like and was the better RB Friday. It was clear as day.

Every year Carey stays here that's probably 2 more years it's going to take to dig out of this

RE: Nebraska???
I think BC was making sure that Huff didn't hurt them. And why not? Graham wasn't going to win the game with his feet, or with his arm. So they made sure that Huff couldn't get anywhere.
Jones might be better but that remains to be seen. Also, Huff is coming off of an injury from spring. Anyway, he only had 5 carries. The likelihood of breaking a good run against BC with 5 carries just isn't very good, even if BC isn't concentrating on stopping him.

Also, given that BC led the nation in sacks last year and had an all american DE, you can't rely on Huff to provide pass protection for Graham. That's another reason Jones played more, and also he was hitting the hole faster.

There were multiple times last season where Huff was the better RB yet they still gave JB more carries. Huff should get the majority of the carries. Jones wasn't out there lighting it up at all.

Yeah, we were playing the best returning defense in the ACC. Sorry, Huff wasn't going to do anything on Friday, in fact, he didn't. I don't care how many "chances" he would have had. Also, as a blocking liability, you can't have him out there for our up tempo offense, and then when we switch him in it would be obvious we are running since he can't pass block. Stop acting like Huff would have made a big difference getting more runs, in fact having him on the field would have been counter productive agains their big D line if we are trying to spread them out, which we were.

This seasons playing time or starting for Jones/Huff and to a lessor extent Graham/Santa may be situational depending on the opponent. All may have their strengths but none are a complete player so it depends what weaknesses youre trying to avoid based on the defenses strength.

Exactly my point, Huff was not the RB to have in the game against that defense. Odds are so slim we were going to hit any home runs running the ball, fortunately Graham was able to get a nice QB run in there, but that defense was stacked, especially on the line, and when you are trying to spread them out you need an RB that can pass protect. I'm actually more surprised we didn't see more mister or even Tre.

Blocking liability, did he whiff on any of his blocks when he was out there this past Friday? Huff deserves more than five carries. He's a talented RB. No one said Huff would have made a big difference. I only said that Jones did nothing special out there.

Huff will get carries against EIU and plenty of yards.
Nebraska will be more Jones.

I watched the game again, except for about 5 minutes in the 4th quarter that was missing. I didn't see any missed blocks from Huff. In fact, one time he hit Landry and knocked him to the ground. And Huff had a good block on Graham's first TD. If anything, Jones has a tendency to dive low at people, and one defender jumped over him, though couldn't get to the QB fast enough afterwards. Jones did miss a block on that 4th and 1 jet sweep, not sure if it would have mattered. So Huff blocked at least as well, if not better.

Oh...here I found the Huff love. I'm OK splitting the carries more, but Huff showed nothing that he should be the #1 back.

He didn't show anything last year? He averaged well over 6 ypc last year. And the year before that, in limited carries. With only 5 carries in this game, it's pretty tough to cancel out what he did last year. One of his carries, he had just gotten the ball and was hit 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage, but dragged the defenders back to the line of scrimmage.
