SDSU vs UC Davis on Facebook
I'm impressed with the Facebook production. The game is easier to access than a Watch ESPN broadcast, the video is smooth HD, and i like the game announcers.

This is a viable platform.

I just loaded the facebook about for the firestick. I agree it is must better video quality than I expected. The wish the do the comments were horizontal instead of vertical. Similar to the way the tweeter comments come in.

I watched about 30 seconds of it. Constant freezing and dis-figuration of the image. Could have been my phone, but there was not enough bandwidth to carry this via mobile. Great idea though.

I think you are correct. FWIW, I thought they pulled it off nicely. Tremendous exposure potential on Facebook.

Compared to last year, FB games provided some really good exposure.
Stadium FB games stats.
Marshall vs Miami OH: Saw 8k viewers at the same time and had over 741,000 views.

SDSU vs UC Davis: Saw 2.7k viewers at the same time and had over 501k views. Definitely had a larger number of views compared to last year in which 55k views was our highest amount using the Livestream platform.
Surprised at the numbers for SDSU as I thought it may be higher, but I think the technical difficulties at the beginning turned away quite a few people.

RE: SDSU vs UC Davis on Facebook
The broadcast quality was fine enough for Miami-Marshall, on par with ESPN3 imo. It was annoying having to hear the announcers say "no commercials for this game!" twenty times but they spent all their TV timeouts and halftime reading Facebook comments and putting a plug in for FB Live. It'd be close to perfect if you got experienced announcers in there who spent the breaks talking just about the game and nitty gritty X's and O's, but that's wishful thinking.

Well, there was a novelty factor, the game on Facebook, that couldn't be ignored, so that didn't bother me much. As FB does more of these games, the novelty will be gone and the announcers won't mention it so much.

When they did talk Xs and Os, I thought the announcers were fine, informative.
