RE: Will JMU get any votes in the FBS AP Top 25 Poll?
The problem with getting votes is people don't really know yet how good (or bad) ECU is yet, and will assume they are the same 3 win team as last year. ECU posters believed otherwise until they saw us come in and stomp them. ECU fans now assume they suck because they lost to a FCS squad, but that may not be the case. We beat a strong, #13 ranked VT squad in 2010, and this year's team looks even stronger.

I think ECU could be a decent team, but if they go 0-4 after their next 3 ranked opponents, then they may just give up as a team on the season.

Hope they win at least one or two of their next 3.

I voted no. Don't think it is a bad topic to debate/discuss.

I *do* think if the Dukes run the table - and I believe we will - we will find ourselves potentially inside the top 25 in some of the computer polls (e.g., Sagarin or the like).

We got a handful after we beat VT, buuuuut that was a highly-ranked VT team. This was a 3-win team last year and is nowhere close to being ranked. Stomping or not, I don't think ECU is getting enough respect to make us look that amazing. Plus most of the conversation is revolving around ECU looking terrible than JMU looking that much better than a legit AAC contender.

Let's say we were AAC. If we had beat a bottle dweller in conf would we get votes? Unranked beating a lower unranked. We rip off 5 more wins then ya we will see. AP poll is always, what have you done lately. Mid season the AP won't remember this game. Only chance we get votes is go undefeated regular season. Finish undefeated with championship then we will be top 25 end of year.

I went through some of the articles I saved off following the VT win. JMU received two votes for a total of 11 points the week after the game.

I doubt we'll get any votes even if we run the table, unless we absolutely curb stomp every team along the way.

I'd say not unless we curb stomp every team *AND* ECU also has a good/great year. We would need ECU to be getting some votes or ranked for that win to become significant to FBS top 25 voters.

No, we won't get any. It's not like we beat Alabama.
