USM getting the ball back down 7 with 9:50 left in the 4th. This game is for the taking.

We had our chances, but boneheaded penalties by players and coaches, plus SEC refs turn the tide for Kentucky.

RE: UK vs USM game thread
Conceding the first half and 14 points off TOs equals a 7 point loss. Coach leaves same ineffective QB from last year in a whole half basically giving the game to UK. That's the inexcusable.
Defense was light years ahead of last year. Good enough (as long as Howard doesn't play QB anymore) to run through this conference.

yeah, they tagged us in the ass when it mattered. but we've been dealing with that for decades.

this is a game we could have won.

as someone upthread implied, we lost it early, not late.

Snell 20 for 67 yards. Pretty much stuffed UKs all every thing runner running behind their all everything returning OL. Doesn't bode well for CUSA.

RE: UK vs USM game thread
crowd was terrible. uniforms were terrible. coaching decison to start Neon Keon over Griggs may be the worst decision ive seen in years. i cant get over that or forgive Hop for blowing a special season for us.

other than that, its clear we will roll through this weak conference and will likely only lose 1 more game (TN), as long as Griggs is healthy at QB. Im not even conceding the TN game with Griggs at QB and a couple more games of experience under his belt. Hops done a good job, obviously, but he needs to be ***** slapped for playing Keon an entire freaking half! he's the worst QB ive seen in a long, long time and Griggs is looking like one of the best ive seen. they weren't even close. what the hell was he doing / thinking playing that kid an entire half?!

I know we are all disappointed and ****. but I wouldn't prognosticate anything regarding the conference on the basis of that.

But, peace, bro.

As Stinkfist kept assuring me, the defense is totally solid.

the uniforms were indeed pretty gay.

we used to be the bad guys in black. now we're the mellow guys in yellow.

Don't have any problem doing it.
That is as long as Marcello is getting the snaps at number two.
The recurrence of TOs is very concerning. One giving them the ball at the 8 and one picked up fumble for a TD was a knife in the heart. We don't turn the ball over and like most of the games we lost last year, we win. Even giving them the first half. I like our odds in this conference.

RE: UK vs USM game thread
Defense looked solid. Offense looked like crap. We gave it away with fumbles and special teams screw-ups. Ok, our offense was anemic until the second half, but then it became sporadic. Kwadra looked better than Keon, but not by a whole lot. We need both to improve, or MR might get a shot. Everyone's going to drop 9 in the box until we come up with a reliable passing game. Ito had no room to move. They keyed on him the entire game. Staggers was shut down.

We'll take out some frustration on Southern-BR next week, then at ULaMo. Then we have an open week to stew before opening conference play with UNT. I see a team with good potential.

Griggs is one of the best QBs you've seen? Pump the brakes.

We lost at home to one of the worst SEC teams and you're saying we will roll through this conference??
