Ok, our offense was anemic until the second half, but then it became sporadic. Kwadra looked better than Keon, but not by a whole lot. We need both to improve, or MR might get a shot. Everyone's going to drop 9 in the box until we come up with a reliable passing game. Ito had no room to move. They keyed on him the entire game. Staggers was shut down.

We'll take out some frustration on Southern-BR next week, then at ULaMo. Then we have an open week to stew before opening conference play with UNT. I see a team with good potential.

Not by a whole lot? Not backed up by the stats. They both got a half. KH 7-14 87 yds 20 QB rating 0 TD. KG 15-26 222yds 64 rating 2TDs. Even the untrained eye can decipher those numbers.

other than that, its clear we will roll through this weak conference and will likely only lose 1 more game (TN), as long as Griggs is healthy at QB. Im not even conceding the TN game with Griggs at QB and a couple more games of experience under his belt. Hops done a good job, obviously, but he needs to be ***** slapped for playing Keon an entire freaking half! he's the worst QB ive seen in a long, long time and Griggs is looking like one of the best ive seen. they weren't even close. what the hell was he doing / thinking playing that kid an entire half?!

Griggs is one of the best QBs you've seen? Pump the brakes.

We lost at home to one of the worst SEC teams and you're saying we will roll through this conference??

I wouldn't say they are the worst. They went to the Gator Bowl last year. We played a good UK team and we should have won but oh well.

Keon would probably grade a "D", and Griggs would get a "C". We lost. They both gave away fumbles that led to our demise. Griggs completed some incredible passes. He also had some luck working for him. Both threw it into the dirt a few times, and I don't think it was intentional, just poorly underthrown. Not sold that either is the answer yet, but Griggs gave us a spark, somewhat.

I expect us to route Southern-BR next weekend. Griggs will probably start. If he underperforms, I expect the same hook. We go to ULaMo the next week. It's a good time to be working on these issues versus overmatched competition. If neither Griggs or Keon secures the job, the open week that follows is an ideal time to give MR lots of reps.

RE: UK vs USM game thread
The entire SEC was down last year, except for Bama. It's true. UK beat Louisville last year. That's probably one of the SEC's better OOC wins last year. They were bad when we played them, looked even worse versus Florida, but then steadily got better. They were in the top-50 probably. They're about the same now. They might get worse though. We shut their offense down, though they were playing with a lead.

If our defense can maintain that level of play, we can go quite far.

I just don't understand some of the reasoning here. A question, if either gets the whole game to play, who has the best chance to win? KH had the first half when we were at 0-0. No doubt he loses big if he gets the second half and has to try and catch up. KG comes in down by 14 and has to play catch up. We had a chance until the last series.
There is really no comparison between the two. Only idiocy will allow KH to play next week until the game is not in doubt.

After running it down their throats last year, our OLine wasn't up to the task this year. Both QB fumbles might be blamed there.

But to answer your question, yes, Kwadra probably would have given us a better chance to win had he started. Hindsight is 20/20. I can also see why Keon started, having some experience and being a little bit faster runner. Kwadra should have an easier challenge versus S-BR.

I did not go nuts when I heard Keon would start. I mentioned then it may be a good move since Griggs had not played. But, and it's a really big but, the way he played he should not have gotten the whole first half.
No way we should be playing a QB because he is a better runner than the next guy. If that's the thinking we are in for some more disappointments.

I don't know what game you were watching but the diff in these two QBs is night and day. There is absolutely no comparison. There was ZERO offense with Neon Keon in there. Griggs threw for 222 yards and 2 TD in a HALF. That averages out to 444 yards and 4 TDs / game if my math is right. He can run too. He's also cool and calm and doesn't panic and freak out like Keon. We would have lost by 30+ had Keon played all game and we would have won by double digits had Griggs started and finished the game. Any idiot watching the game could see that. I'm proof.

The O-Line is starting I believe three freshmen. The line from last year is basically gone. They had to move Farrior to center just to ensure good snapping. Honestly I was surprised in our line.

Snaps were low. Hope they fix that.
