The only other game I'll go to is the nebraska game and that's because I'm coincidentally visiting friends that live in the area that weekend. Anyone responsible for the QB situation and the play calling need to be gone nft year

I do want to say that I feel for the defense. They played their asses off and got no help. Sutton Smith and Kyle Pugh in particular. Sad that we cant put together anything that resembles a mediocre college offrnse

Defense did a good job but let's be honest, that BC offense is really bad (and so is ours). They probably finish bottom two or three in ACC.

Defense is very promising. Sutton smith is a stud. O-line played solid and has the potential to be good. WTF Lurry? Where did you go. Where was Huff? Hardly played tonight. Lacking the skill players on offense. NIU Crowd was disappointing as always. If I can fly out from California and pay for 4 others to attend???! Such a shame. Great product in Dekalb and only 20K???

Graham took some big hits like he always does, but the opposing coaches might tell his players not to hit him so hard because he's their MVP.

Anyone find it hypocritical Carey hates Huff for not taking most direct sure yardage and yet NIU runs a jet sweep on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1

Wow
First to admit a lot bothered me about that game. Throwing deep on 3rd and 1, Time management, Graham...
But shame on those that are "embarrassed " after their performance.
-Hare three under 90 yard and an interception...that was with a full years starting experience.
-we had just under 400 yard offense compared to like 150! 400 yard against BC can easily translate to 500+ pretty much any other game we play.
-the team is all youth. Look at the already emerging players and how many years they still have to grow. The roster is only getting stronger and team getting better.
-without looking at numbers, NIU looked like the better team and at times bullied their offense. Even a bad Acc team they're still acc recruited and coached.
-most importantly to me, the team, specifically defense, had its swagger back. Something that lacked particularly last year. They were confident, fast,strong...nowhere reminiscent of last years disgruntled bunch.
I'm excited to see how these players grow throughout the season and in future years. Feel very optimistic.
Lol now people are hating on Lurry all of a sudden and declaring the great cramping conspiracy. Sooo willing to throw ANYONE to the wolves for absolutely nothing. Lurry didn't even have a bad game, what the hell.
Yall can be "embarrassed ". I'm disappointed and optimistic. Regardless that team will never be an embarrassment to me.

I don't know why he didn't go for the throat those last couple minutes. He had time outs and a real chance to win the game.

RE: *** OFFICIAL NIU vs Boston College GAME THREAD***
I hate when coaches don't try to get closer so the FG will be easier. They just assume a kicker is going to make a 40+ yard FG. Especially in a game like the BC game where every point is going to be crucial. I mean, if you have a good QB it might not be a bad play, but Carey is way too confident in Graham's abilities. That's on Carey.

RE: *** OFFICIAL NIU vs Boston College GAME THREAD***
Graham being bad aside, we don't really know how good BC is this year. Much like last years lost to Wyoming who turned out to be much better than we thought, BC might be a 7-6 or 8-5 ACC team in 2017. If thats the case, this team will do very well vs the rest of the MAC. If Santa or someone else improves the play at QB(and there's TONS of room for improvement) I like our chances in the west.
If BC really sucks, well then, hello 6-6 or maybe 5-7. But I thought the BC QB looked pretty decent, but i'll have to watch the broadcast to have a better idea.

I've attended 5 games in the last 4 years, NIU has lost 4 of them. Starting to think it was me jinxing them until I saw what I saw last night.
Concur with all of the sentiments expressed on here about QB and especially play calling. You'd think Carey would be at least mediocre by now but he's gotten worse.
D played well, O would have been more effective with a better pass game. Wimann pulled us out several times on the short passes; seems we now longer have a long-ball threat with Golladay gone.
That being said, good to see fellow Huskies, thanks for the hospitality.
Sad to see so many empty seats on such a perfect football night, though.

Blake is not a deep threat and I dont know why hes the guy they send downfield. He gets zero separation. Send Tears or Wesley. Wimann is a stud and will be a big part of the O this year, but he had a HUGE drop.

RE: *** OFFICIAL NIU vs Boston College GAME THREAD***
The few BC fans that were there were acting like they'd won the national championship.
Yeah they won, but nothing to be proud of. They were a shanked field goal against going into OT with a team they'd thought they'd beat by 3 touchdowns.
I would have better happier to have won the game, of course, but even then it would have been obvious that we have some glaring discrepancies.
Imagine what a HAre lead team would have done, much less a Harnish/Lynch team. Of course, you have the Carey play calling factor , which doesn't fall on the players.

Yea, there were plenty on the BC board that thought this game would be a gimme. Not sure what made them think that.
